Early life and education
Mulroney was born in Montreal, Quebec, and grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. He is the second of four children born to former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and Mila Pivnicki Mulroney, both of Serbian descent. Mulroney is one of many children of former Prime Ministers whose became Canadian media stars between 1998 and 2001.
Caroline, his older sister, is the Minister of Transportation for Ontario, despite being a losing candidate for the 2018 Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership race. During the leadership race, Maclean's later revealed that he assisted her in rehearsing scripts.
Mulroney attended Lyce Claudel d'Ottawa and the Hotchkiss School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history from Duke University. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Université Laval later in life. It was revealed that all the Mulroney children's university education was funded by the funds that his father received from Karlheinz Schillert at the Oliphant hearings.
Personal life
Mulroney became engaged to his girlfriend, fashion designer and stylist Jessica Brownstein, on December 28, 2007, in Montreal. They were married in October 30, 2008 in a private ceremony at St. Patrick's Basilica, Montreal. Brownstein first met Brownstein as a boy at all-boys Selwyn House School while attending the same time as her sister school Miss Edgar's and Miss Cramp's School.
They have three children, Brian Gerald Alexander Mulroney and John Benedict Dimitri Mulroney, who are fraternal twins, as well as daughter Isabel Veronica Mulroney (born June 12, 2013).

Career
Mulroney wrote a regular column in the Toronto Sun in the late 1990s. In 2000, he began his career as the Quebec City reporter for The Chatroom, the CTV-owned digital television network Talktv, and he became one of five co-hosts of the show in July 2001. Mulroney resigned as host of etalk on June 22, 2020, saying, "We need more Black voices, more Indigenous voices, more people of colour in the media, and more women of colour in general, as well as every other occupation – and that's why I resigned from my role as host of etalk, so we can have a fresh perspective and a new voice." His resignation came as a result of a controversy in which his wife was accused of assaulting Sasha Exeter, a black influencer.
He was announced as the cohost of CTV's new morning show Your Morning, which took over the venerable Canada AM in June 2016. He left the program in 2021 in order to "pursue a career as a producer" by creating unique projects for both Canadian and international audiences.
Mulroney joined ABC News in June 2012 as a contributor to Good Morning America. While serving as a contributor to Good Morning America, former ABC News President Ben Sherwood announced that Mulroney would temporarily substitute Dan Harris during the weekends.
