Rick Karsdorp Career

Club career

Karsdorp was born in Schoonhoven, Netherlands, as his father, Fred, worked as a coach. Karsdorp was then scouted by Feyenoord, and he and his father, who joined the club and his parents' separation, migrated to Bergambacht. "When things did not go so well for me at school, my father told Feyenoord that I was not allowed to play football anymore." Only when things at school got better. I was allowed to return to the classes. That's been a good lesson in my growth." Following his improved attendance at school, he revived VV Schoonhoven and remained there for six months before re-joining Feyenoord. Karsdorp was a youth protester from the Feyenoord Academy. He started out playing in the midfield position before playing in the right-back role. Karsdorp signed his first professional deal with the club in December 2013 and will continue to do so until 2015.

Karsdorp was given a number twenty-six shirt for Feyenoord ahead of the 2014–15 season. In a UEFA Champions League third round qualifier against Beşiktaş on August 6, 2014, Jordy Clasie was defeated after 69 minutes in a 3–1 away loss. In a 2–1 loss against FC Utrecht two weeks later, he made his league debut for the club, coming on as an 80th-minute replacement. Karsdorp was totally wrong in the UEFA Europa League match against HNK Rijeka on October 23, 2014, losing Andrej Kramari to score as the club lost 3-1. Karsdorp signed a Feyenoord contract extension, extending him until 2018. Karsdorp has been on the substitute bench since the start of the season, due to a competition between right-backs Khalid Boulahrouz and Luke Wilkshire, who placed him on the bench.

Following Boulahrouz and Wilkshire's absence, he became the first team regular in the right-back position by February. Karsdorp set up the club's first goal of the season for Anass Achahbar, who scored twice, in a 2–1 match against PSV Eindhoven on March 22, 2015. In a 4–1 loss to Vitesse on May 11, he set up Feyenoord's first goal of the season. Karsdorp received a straight red card in the 71st minute after losing 3–0. He returned to the starting lineup against Heerenveen in the second leg of the league's play-off spot semi-final, despite losing 3–2 on aggregate, despite serving a one-match suspension. Karsdorp made 21 appearances in all competitions between the 2014–15 season.

Karsdorp switched from one number shirt to two in the 2015–16 season. In a 3–2 win over Utrecht in the first game of the season, he was dismissed in the 50th minute for a professional foul. However, his red card was suspended by the KNVB's disciplinary committee, but the player was allowed to return to the field. This was followed by the club's help with two clean sheets against SC Cambuur and Vitesse. Karsdorp scored three goals in three matches between September 13, 2015, Roda JC, and PEC Zwolle. However, he sustained a groin injury during training, which caused him to be sidelined for a month. Karsdorp signed a Feyenoord contract extension, prolonging his tenure until 2020, while on the sidelines. In a 1–0 loss, he didn't make his return to the first team until November 1st, 2015. Karsdorp scored his fourth goal of the game on November 22, 2015, beating SBV Excelsior 4–2 in a 5–2 victory.

Following his return from injury, he regained his first team position and started playing in the right-back role. However, Karsdorp sustained a groin injury in mid-February that kept him out for two games. In a 2–1 victory over Utrecht on February 28, he didn't return to the starting lineup until February 28, 2016. In a 2–0 win over Vitesse on March 13, Karsdorp then scored two goals in a 2–0 win. Since recovering from injury, he continued to help Feyenoord win the KNVB Cup after defeating Willem II 1–0 on May 1st. Karsdorp made thirty-five appearances in all competitions from the 2015-2016 season.

Karsdorp started the game in the right-back position as Feyenoord lost 1–0 against PSV Eindhoven in the Johan Cruyf Shield in the 2016–17 season. In the first three league matches against Groningen, Twente, and Heracles, he helped the club keep three clean sheets in a row. Karsdorp has been playing in the right-back position since the start of the 2016–17 season. In a 2–2 draw against Heerenveen on October 30, he scored his first goal for the club on October 30, 2016.

Karsdorp started playing in every match since the start of the 2016–17 season before suffering a meniscus injury while playing against rival Ajax on April 2nd. While on the sidelines, Karsdorp signed a Feyenoord contract extension, extending his contract until 2021. In a 3–0 loss to Excelsior, it wasn't until May 7th, 2017 that he returned to the starting lineup and played 82 minutes before being suspended. Karsdorp played the remainder of the game against Heracles Almelo in the season's last game of the season, winning 3–1 to help the club win the league for the first time since 1999. In all competitions, he made forty-one appearances and scoring once at the end of the 2016–17 season.

Karsdorp signed with Roma on a five-year contract for a €14 million fee with various performance-related clauses worth up to €5 million in additional payments on June 28th. Feyenoord's most expensive outgoing player in history with his move.

However, Karsdorp sustained a knee injury that kept him sidelined at the start of the 2017--18 season. In a 1–0 victory over Crotone on October 25, he made his Roma debut in October, starting a game and playing 82 minutes before being dismissed. However, Karsdorp suffered a knee injury during the match against Crotone and was sidelined for the 2017–18 season. This will be his first game for the club.

Karsdorp switched number shirt from twenty-six to two ahead of the 2018-19 season. In a 2–1 loss against A.C. Milan, he returned to the first squad but didn't make his first appearance of the season until August 31, 2018. However, Karsdorp discovered himself behind the pecking order in the first team, resulting in him being thrown on the replacement bench as well as his own injury concern. He then started playing in the right-back position between 14 January 2019 and 8 February 2019. Following another injury, Karsdorp found his playing time, mainly from the bench, as he began to compete for his first team position and also, his own injury concern for the remainder of the 2018-19 season. He made fourteen appearances in all competitions between the 2018–19 season.

Karsdorp returned to Feyenoord on a loan for the remainder of the season on August 7th. "I didn't play much football for two years, and no one knows it." Upon joining the club, he said: "I didn't play much football for two years." I was often mistaken for injury, but now it is better.

Karsdorp's first game after signing for Feyenoord on loan was a success against Heerenveen in the first game of the season. Karsdorp then played in both legs against Hapoel Be'er Sheva and scored two goals in the second leg as he helped the club beat 6–0 on aggregate to reach the UEFA Europa League Group Stage. Karsdorp scored his first goal for the club on September 15, 2019, defeating ADO Den Haag 3–2. In a 5–1 victory, Feyenoord's first goal of the game after missing one game, he returned to the starting line against FC Twente on September 29th, setting up Feyenoord's first goal of the season. In a 2–0 victory over Porto in the UEFA Europa League match, the goal was followed by his second goal of the season. However, Karsdorp sustained a groin injury that kept him out for two months. In a 3–2 win over Heracles, it wasn't until Jan. 25th, 2020, that he made his return to the first team as an 83rd-minute replacement. Karsdorp's first two goals in two matches against PEC Zwolle and Fortuna Sittard were set up between February 20, 2020, and February 22, 2020. He continued as a first-team regular, appearing in twenty-two games and scoring two times before the club's KNVB Cup Final, which was eventually suspended in the Netherlands, on March 12th, owing to the pandemic, which had been postponed in the Netherlands. Despite transfer rumors of him returning, Karsdorp returned to his parent club following this.

International career

Karsdorp was called up to the Netherlands U17 squad for the first time in August 2011. In a 1–0 win over Italy U17 on September 16, 2011, he made his Netherlands U17 debut, starting the match, in a 1–0 victory. Karsdorp made his second (and last) appearances for the U17 team against Israel U17 in 3–1.

Karsdorp was called up to the Netherlands U18 for the first time in his career in August 2012. He made his Netherlands U18 debut against the United States U18 in September 2012, starting the match and scoring the U18's first goal of the game in a 4–2 loss. Karsdorp continued to appear in two Netherlands U18 matches.

For the first time in his career, Karsdorp was called up to the Netherlands U19 in August 2013. On September 6, 2013, he made his Netherlands U19 debut against Germany U19, starting the game in a 6–1 loss in the central midfield position. In a 3–1 victory over Turkey U19 on October 13, 2013, Karsdorp scored his first Netherlands U19 goal. He made seven appearances and scored once for the U19 team before going on to make seven appearances and scoring once.

Karsdorp was called up to the Netherlands U20 squad for the first time in October 2014. In a 2–2 draw against Turkey U20 on September 9, he made his Netherlands U20 debut, starting the whole game. Karsdorp continued to make three appearances on the U20 side.

Karsdorp was called up to the Netherlands U21 squad for the first time in November a month later. In a 3–1 loss to Germany U21 on November 13, 2014, he made his Netherlands U21 debut, starting the whole game. Karsdorp continued to make two appearances for the U21 team.

Karsdorp was given his first call up to the senior Netherlands team in September 2015 against Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic in UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Czech Republic. In March 2016, he was called up again for friendlies against France and England.

Karsdorp made his Netherlands debut in a 4–1 victory over Belarus on October 7, 2016, starting in the right-back position. He began in a follow-up match against France, starting from where he should have been in the right-back position after the national team lost 1–0. The Netherlands' next match came against Bulgaria on March 25, 2017, when they lost 2–0. "Of course I was part of the Dutch national team, and I also watched the Orange squad this week." I'm happy with the two victories, but I don't want to be concerned with the Orange at all. Before that, I only played four games here. In 100 weeks, fifteen matches have been played in a row. If I have played twenty games, ten assists, and scored five goals, you can ask whether the Orange will return to the picture. I have just returned to Feyenoord. If you're here every week, you'll know it. And if you're doing well, chances are that will arise."

Ciao, Jose! During Roma's 1-1 draw with Atalanta, Mourinho is SENT OFF; the Portuguese boss has been suspended in both halves for protesting the referee during a Serie A match

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 7, 2024
Roma, who lost in four out of their last five league outings, are eighth in the standings on 29 points. They are just one point behind seventh-placed Lazio and Atalanta in sixth place, and four adrift of Fiorentina, who finish in fifth place. When told not to do so, Mourinho turned yellow in stoppage time of the first half for protesting another decision taken by referee Gianluca Aurelio.

Jose Mourinho is exhausting by bad officiating in Italy, and he's ill

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 5, 2023
ALVISE CAGNAZZO: When Jose Mourinho loses his temper, his rage has been unleashed on Serie A referees this season. Against Cremonese, the Roma boss received his third red card of the season, highlighting a coach who is eager for more attention from the fans and the media. Mourinho was dismissed for opposition by referee Marco Piccinini just 60 seconds into the second half after an explosive match with the fourth official.

Jose Mourinho, who is returning to England, is becoming dissatisfied with Roma

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 4, 2023
Jose Mourinho's regular remark separates him from Roma's coterie and supporters. Roma's surprise Coppa Italia departure at the hands of Cremonese was a bitter blow to take for a coach who never emphasizes the club's transfer market or his squad's weaknesses if they lose. In critical situations, a leader should defend his team and accept all responsibility directly. His method of requesting more from his players is rare, but his desire to win goes beyond the boundaries of a charismatic boss.
