Early life and education
She was born in Bombay to Amarjit Singh Bajwa, a Naval Officer and Jayalakshmi Bajwa. Deepika Bajwa, her younger sister, has a younger sister. Miss Pune was crowned in 2005, and after that, she began modelling part-time while studying. The director of Modati Cinema noticed her and asked if she was interested in films when she returned to Hyderabad for a ramp show. Despite excelling in academics, she had finished her 12th and had a five-month absence before college and decided to act in his film. She debuted in Tamil with the Hari-directed masala film Seval in 2008 and later appeared in Thenavattu and Kacheri Arambam, co-starring Jeeva, Drohi, and Thambikottai. She appeared in China Town, a Malayalam film.
