Trisha Krishnan Career

Film career

Trisha began her acting career in Jodi as Simran's friend. Priyadarshan-directed Lesa Lesa's first project, as well as making an invitation to appear in Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (2003), was the first project she accepted. However, both of the projects' launches were severely delayed, and Ameer's Mounam Pesiyadhe opposite Surya Sivakumar appeared on the radio, and her first appearance was sadly delayed. The film became a moderate success at the box office and earned Trisha's reputation, with critics claiming that she was "undoubtedly a welcome new find, with sparkling eyes and a vivacious demeanor." Savitha Reddy, a dubbing artiste who has since been criticized for Trisha, was also praised for Trisha. Manasellam, her second film, had her playing a cancer patient; but the film went unnoticed.

Saamy with Vikram was Hari-directed police film. She appeared soft-spoken Brahmin girl and received praise for her performance, with Sify's reviewer claiming she was "appealingly sensitive" and looked "glamorous" while another critic commenting that she looked "very pretty" and suited the role. The masala film became the year's biggest blockbuster, grossing 16 crores, and it had landed Trisha new offers, including several high-budget ones. Lesa Lesa, which was supposed to be her debut, was due to be released next. The romantic musical, which is based on the 1998 Malayalam film Summer in Bethlehem, received mainly favorable feedback. Lesa Lesa's son died in Alai, which was unsuccessful at the post office. Then released Enakku 20 Unakku 18 in 1999, but it was unsuccessful commercially, but it was a well known film that helped with her career and was highly praised.

She debuted in Telugu cinema in 2004 with M S Raju's romance-action film Varsham, which made her a overnight sensation. Critics applauded her performance as Sailaja, a middle-class girl who becomes a film actress on her father's request; Jeevi from Idlebrain described her appearance as "natural" and a "great plus to the film," while Sify said she had "transformed herself into a strong actress with a strong screen presence. She was lauded by a writer for fullhyderabad.com, who said she had explained why Tamil Nadu was "busy building her a temple." Trisha was awarded the Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress, despite the fact that the film was a hugely popular, running for more than 175 days theatres, being dubbed a "sensational hit" and becoming one of the year's top-grosser, as well as the Santosham Award for Best Actress. She was also offered the same role in its Tamil remake Mazhai, but she turned down. She appeared in the action comedy film Ghilli later this year. She portrayed Dhanalakshmi, a helpless girl whose a Kabaddi player tries to escape from the clutches of an influential thug who wants to marry her, with the majority of observers agreeing that her appearance was overshadowed by Vijay and Prakash Raj's in particular. The film eventually became Trisha's highest-grossing Tamil film of the year, despite a 175-day run. She appeared in a small part in Mani Ratnam's political drama Aayu Ezhuthu, starring Siddharth, Madhavan, and Surya. Despite encouraging reviews, the film still failed at the box office, although it was later discovered that the three leading male actors had a field day.

Trisha had 12 launches in the last two years, with one of them naming her as the female lead. She appeared in two male-oriented action-masala films Thirupaachi and Aaru, directed by Perarasu and Hari, but she had only limited roles, with the former becoming a major commercial hit. She appeared alongside Siddharth in her second Telugu project, the sentimental tragedy Nuvvostanante Nenodddantana. Prabhu Deva's directorial debut opened to rave reviews, with Trisha for her role as the village girl Siri, which earned her three Best Actress awards and her first Nandi Award. Idlebrain said she was "just fantastic." Her youthful looks, innocent face, and Telugu traditional costumes make her a treat to watch, while Sify wrote of Trisha that she was "amazing as Siri." The film went on to win eight Southern Filmfare Awards, the most ever by a Telugu film, while still being extremely popular at the box office. Trisha also reprised the role in its Tamil remake later this year. N Lingusamy's Ji and Aathi, which saw her collaboration with Ajith Kumar and Vijay, respectively, were both challenging and expensive failures, while Aaru was a modest success. Varsham and Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana's success culminated in Trisha's third consecutive M S Raju film, with the producer claiming that she was "one of the most versatile and beautiful actress I had ever worked with" before going on to compare Savitri, Nargis, and Sophia Loren's works. Pournami, directed by Prabhu Deva, starred her in the titular role alongside a supporting cast and bombed at the box office. Unakkum Enakkum, the 2006 Tamil remake of Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, where she appeared opposite Jayam Ravi, did well at the box office. She appeared in the Telugu film Stalin with Chiranjeevi, after which her Telugu film Sainikudu with Mahesh Babu was released.

Aadavari Matalaku Verule, where she was cast opposite Venkatesh, was her next release. Selvaraghavan's first Telugu film was a family entertainer, and the family audience responded enthusiastically. Trisha received her third Filmfare Award for the film. Trisha was described as playing "her normal role and [not] bringing anything unique to the table" in Kireedam with Ajith Kumar. Bheema and Kuruvi, her 2008 Tamil films, struggled to make it to the box-office. Ravi Teja, a blockbuster, became a blockbuster in Telugu Krishna. Prabhas, the actress's previous film in Bujigadu, had a good run. Trisha was lauded for her role in Radhamohan's Abhiyum Naanum. Nagarjuna, starring King Nagarjuna, directed by Senu Vaitla, became a blockbuster.

Sarvam, her 2009 films with Arya and Sankham opposite Gopichand, did not do well and became just average grossers. In Gautham Vasudev Menon's 2010 Tamil romantic drama film Vinnayaa, which was a huge commercial success at the box office, Trisha played a central role, playing a Syrian Christian Malayali girl Jessie. The film revolves around a complicated friendship between a Syrian Christian Malayali girl and a Tamil Hindu assistant director who falls in love with her, only to be confronted with indifference and reluctance as they belong to different faiths and her strict conservative family would never consent to their marriage. Critics applauded her achievement, awarding her the 2010 Vijay Award for Favorite Heroine. "Trisha is a revelation," Pavithra Srinivasan of Rediff said. Nalini Sriram's simple costumes dazzles her in the wake of her filmi make-up. "Trisha looks good and gives her best performance in a knock-out role," Sify said.

In 2010, Namo Venkatesa became her sole Telugu release. She appeared in Manmadhan Ambu with Kamal Haasan and R Madhavan in the same year, and she made her Bollywood debut with the Priyadarshan film Khatta Meetha. Critics and Box Office India called the film an average performer at the box office on its first release. In 2011, Theenmaar in Telugu and Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha in Tamil were two commercially profitable ventures. The latter was the year's best-grossing Tamil film.

In 2012-Bodyguard, a remake of the same-titled Malayalam film starring her for the third time, and the comedy drama Endrendrum Punangai starring Jiiva, she had two Telugu releases, including one with Vishal. Rambha Urvasi Menaka and Kannaale Kannan are two "women-centric" bilingual projects starring female lead casts. Despite the fact that both films were released in 2013, they were stalled in 2013.

Yennai Arindhaal was released in 2015 as a tribute to Ajith Kumar, Thoongavanam with Kamal Haasan, and Bhooloham with Jayam Ravi in Tamil. In addition, she appeared in the horror film Aranmanai 2 (2017).

In 2018, she appeared in a Malayalam film Hey Jude with Nivin Pauly, making her Malayalam debut. She was a central protagonist in the Tamil romantic drama '96 opposite Vijay Sethupathi and received universal praise from critics. Janani K of India Today praised her career as her best ever. Multiple accolades have been given to her for her role as Jaanu in '96, including Best Actress at Filmfare Awards, Edison Awards, Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards, and the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards. She appeared in Petta, a tamil film, in which Superstar Rajinikanth appeared briefly.

She appeared in Mani Ratnam's 2022 film Ponniyin Selvan: I, as the Chola princess Kundavai, which received positive feedback for her performance.
