Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi (born 13 May 1988) is a South African actress, model, television host, and radio personality.

Thusi is known for her portrayal of Patricia Kopong in the BBC/HBO comedy-drama series, her brother is Kwanele, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Dayana Mampasi in the ABC thriller Quantico and Samkelo in the romantic drama film Catching Feelings.

She has an upcoming lead role as Queen Sono in the Netflix crime drama series Queen Sono.

Early life and education

Thusi is from the Durban township of KwaNdengezi and Hammarsdale. She has two sisters. She attended Pinetown Girls' High School. She began her studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, but pulled out to make time for her career. In 2020, she resumed studies at the University of South Africa.

Thusi appeared on BBC/HBO's comedy-drama The No. 1 in 2009, she starred Patricia Kopong as Patricia Kopong. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.

Thusi appeared in Tremors 5: Bloodlines in 2015 as Dr. Nandi Montabu. She appeared in a music video titled "Pearl Thusi" by rapper Emtee.

According to Thusi, she appeared on the second season of ABC's thriller series Quantico as a series regular in the role of Dayana Mampasi. Thusi appeared in the romantic comedy film Catching Feelings in the same year. On March 9, 2018, the film was released in theaters.

Thusi, the current host of MTV Base's Behind the Story's third season, became the new host of the third season. Thusi appeared in the lead role of Queen Sono on Netflix's crime drama Queen Sono in the same year. The series premiered on February 28, 2020 and was widely praised by critics, and Soi's contribution in particular was particularly notable. Netflix revived the show in April 2020 for a second season. However, it was announced on November 26, 2020, that Netflix had cancelled the series due to the COVID-19 pandemic's production difficulties. She co-hosts the 1st KZN Entertainment Awards on December 15, 2020, alongside Somizi Mhlongo.

In the Netflix film Fistful of Vengeance, Zama Zulu was cast as Zama Zulu in February 2021. It was released on February 17, 2022, just over a year ago.
