Pearl V Puri (born 10 July 1989) is an Indian television actor best known for his portrayal of Mahir Sehgal in Naagin 3.

Early life

Pearl V Puri was born in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, on July 10th, 1989, to Vipin Puri and Pummy Puri, a Punjabi Hindu Khatri family. Reet Vohra aka Quety Puri, is his elder sister. Puri began his education at Maharishi Vidya Mandir Public School in Chhindwara. After a few years, his family migrated to Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where he was enrolled at Raghendra Swarup Public School.

After his ex girlfriend, Shah Rukh Khan, was inspired to be an actor, Puri was compelled to be a comedian. His father wanted him to join their family company, but his mother encouraged him to become an actor. He began his modeling career and appeared in numerous advertisements for Maruti Ritz, Fair One Cream, Pizza Hut.

Puri's father died in October 2020 as a result of a heart attack.

Personal life

Puri was in a nine-year friendship with a girl from Agra. However, the couple broke up after he left home to pursue his acting career.

Pearl V Puri was arrested in June 2021 for allegedly molestation of a teenage girl whose appearance on his tv serial in 2019 and was granted bail after being in Jail for ten days on June 2021.

Career

Puri made his television debut on television as Ajay Tiwari in the love-triangle Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat, a Shashi Sumeet Productions production in 2013.

He appeared in Saurabh Tewari Films' musical romantic drama Phir Bhi Na Maane, a British film star, in which he appeared as Abeer Malhotra, a vivacious rockstar. Despite the fact that the show lasted only 5 months, he gained a Best New Face (Male) nomination at the Indian Telly Awards for his role as Abeer, which earned him a Best New Face (Male) award. The show had originally ended on 19 September, but the program was revived on Hotstar and ran until 18 November.

Puri joined Swastik Pictures' television show Meri Saasu Maa in January 2016; he was portrayed as Satyendra Sharma opposite Hiba Nawab. He appeared on Yash A Patnaik's fantasy TV series Naagarjuna in May 2016, as the young and innocent Arjun Shastri, opposite Pooja Banerjee. In January 2017, the series came to an end.

With the third season of Ekta Kapoor's bestselling supernatural series Naagin, he had his biggest break in 2018. His portrayal of Mahir Sehgal/Mirik Sippi and his chemistry with co-actress Surbhi Jyoti attracted a lot of attention, making him a household name. At Gold Awards, he received awards for Best Actor Male (Critics) and Best Onscreen Jodi (Popular) and Best Actor Male (Popular) and Best Actor Male (Popular) Jodi (Popular) and Best Actor Male (Popular) in India Telly Awards. After 103 episodes, the show attracted high TRPs and ended in May 2019, the longest season of the franchise.

Puri made his discography debut in 2019 with Peerh Meri co-starring Anita Hassanandani. He appeared in Khatra Khatra and the fifth season of Kitchen Champion, both of which were broadcast on Colors TV. He appeared in the fourth season of Box Cricket League.

Puri appeared on Colors TV as the depressed and alcoholic Raghbir Malhotra alongside Aparna Dixit and Ishita Dutta in June 2019. In February 2020, the program went off air.

He appeared in Teri Aankhon Mein Dance Cover in 2020. He started shooting for the second season of Zee TV supernatural show Brahmarakshas, his third consecutive collaboration with Kapoor, as the main lead Angad Mehra opposite Nikki Sharma. The series premiered in November 2020 but fell in April 2021 due to poor TRPs.
