Early life and education
Pawan Singh was born in a Hindu Rajput family in Jokahri village near Arrah, Bihar, on January 5, 1986. He learned to sing from his uncle, Ajit Singh.
Personal life
In 2014, Singh married Neelam Singh in a private ceremony attended by family, friends, relatives, and a few key names from Bhojpuri industry. But Neelam committed suicide at their house on March 8, 2015, just days after their marriage. In 2018, Pawan married Jyoti Singh in a private ceremony in Ballia attended only by relatives and some close aides. In 2022, he applied for divorce from Jyoti.
Music career
Singh began performing and attending stage shows from his childhood. Singh has appeared on Bhojpuri-language pop albums as a vocalist. Odhaniya Wali, his first album, was released in 1997. He made his acting debut in 2004 with the film Rangli Chunariya Tohre Naam. In the 2007 film Rangli Chunariya Tohre Naam, he appeared in his first lead role. Singh's album Lollipop Lagelu, whose song Lollipo Lagelu earned him fame in the industry, was released in 2008. He made his Bollywood debut in 2020 with the song Kamariya Rahi Hai starring American dancer and actress Lauren Gottlieb. Babuni Tere Rang Me, a holi song starring Tridha Choudhury and Returning starring Payal Dev, was his second Bollywood hit on the internet. He performed a Chhath song with Sonu Nigam and later launched a Bhojpuri cover version of some famous Bollywood songs such as Lut gaye, which was originally performed by Jubin Nautiyal and Barish Ban Jana. In Bhojpuri, he remade the famous Hindi song Tumsa Koi Pyara from the film Raja Babu (1994) in Bhojpuri. Jindagi's next Bhojpuri solo performance was in collaboration with Haryanvi musician Renuka Panwar.
