Musharraf Ali Farooqi (born 26 July 1968, Hyderabad, Pakistan) is a Pakistani writer, translator, and essayist.

In 2012, Farooqi was one of five writers shortlisted for Asia's most coveted literary award.

He is also working on establishing an Urdu language publishing service specializing in children's literature and classics, in addition to my fiction and translation projects.

He founded the KITAB (2012), introduced the Online Urdu Thesaurus (2016), and conceived the interactive storytelling and reading course STORYKIT (2016).

These three projects have been embedded in a children's learning program.

The Merman and the Book of Power: A Qissa is his latest book, which will be published in October 2019 by Aleph Book Company.
