Despite the fact that Pea has been involved in independent theatres since 1994, his breakthrough appearances in two Best Picture Oscar-winning Paul Haggis-penned films, Million Dollar Baby (2004) and Crash (2004). Clint Eastwood directed the former, and Haggis directed the latter. Despite the fact that both films are critically acclaimed, Pepe Pea's particularly emotional role in Crash has drawn attention.
