Melendi Life

Ramón Melendi Espina (born in Oviedo, Spain, in 1979), also known as Melendi, has sold more than 3,500,000 albums during his career.

His specialties are rock, flamenco, and rumba styles.

Early life

He was born in Oviedo, Asturias. Fernando Alonso, a Formula One racer, to whom he dedicated the song "Magic Alonso," went to class. He played for a while, but he soon learned he was not meant for racing nor studying, but he was good at football. He played in Astur CF's lower ranks, when he was part of Real Oviedo's reserve team. He worked as a waiter in several bars and spent the night out, having lived experiences that would later on to make up the lyrics of his songs. He formed "El bosque de Sherwood" in 2001 and shortly after recorded a demo with only three songs, "Sin noticias de Holanda," "El informe del fort," and "Vuelvo a trafficar" in Spanish.
