Mary Sarah Gross (born July 7, 1995), better known as Mary Sarah, is a country music performer and songwriter.

She began what was to be her career by attending local performances before being picked up by Kidz Bop in 2007.

She continued with local and regional performances after leaving them before releasing Crazy Good in 2010.

Bridges, her second album, came out in 2014, and it featured duets with several key country music stars.

Dress Up This Town, her third album, came a year later, and she has appeared at the Grand Ole Opry and was featured on The Voice.

Early years

Mary Sarah Gross was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 7, 1995, to Richard and Patricia Gross. Emilee Elizabeth (b. ) is her sister and she has one sibling. Christopher Thomas (b. 93), one brother, is the president of the United States. Richard Tyler, one of their step brothers who lives in Santa Barbara, CA, and works as a photographer, was born in 1989. Christopher was born prematurely, underwent a liver transplant, and is Type 1 diabetic. For this reason, she supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). She is also the National Ambassador for Caiden's Hope, an agency that supports non-medical expenses related to caring for an infant in neonatal intensive care.

Singing career

Mary Sarah began attending services at the age of 8, and has appeared on radio stations and at many regional Opry Theaters. She was signed to the Osbrink Talent Agency in Los Angeles at age 11, and in 2007, when she was 12 years old, she appeared as a featured lead vocalist and dancer in Kidz Bop for six months. She left the department and returned to Texas, where she appeared in local and regional events at the age of 14.

Crazy Good is her first album that was released in 2010.

After Joe Bonsall saw a video of her appearance of "Don't Stop Believing" at the Sugar Land (Texas) Idol competition in January 2011, Mary Sarah was invited to meet The Oak Ridge Boys. Joe and Duane Allen welcomed her onstage to perform "Where the Boys Are" after visiting them backstage at the Galveston Grand Opera House. She attributes The Oak Ridge Boys' support and love for assisting her in moving forward in her career.

"OPRY on the Square – Country Now and Then" on the Sugar Land, Texas, town square, was the host of a four-part series in 2011. In December 2011, the Houston Texans held a vote to see who would sing the National Anthem for their annual Home for the Holidays game. Mary Sarah was the runner out of seven other finalists. Mary Sarah appeared on "Opry Country Classics" with Lynn Anderson and The Oakridge Boys in April 2014, honoring the late Ray Price.

Mary Sarah's second album, Bridges, was released on July 8, 2014. On the album is a recreation of "Where the Boys Are" starring Neil Sedaka. The Oak Ridge Boys also appeared on the album, performing "Dream On" with her. Many well-known celebrities appear in duet. Mary Sarah appeared on Fox News' show on July 29, 2014 to announce her new album. As they performed "The Fightin' Side of Me," the governor played bass in accompaniment.

On February 29, 2016, Mary Sarah auditioned for "Where the Boys Are" on season ten of The Voice. All four coaches were fired, and she chose Blake Shelton as her mentor. She defeated Justin Whisnant in the battles and defeated Brittany Kennell in the knockouts. She finished in the middle of the semifinals and was then eliminated in the Instant Save results, putting her in the Top Six. In a sing-off, Laith Al Saadi, the bearded blues guitarist/rocker from Ann Arbor Michigan, lost a "twitter save" and ended the show in fifth place, earning her fifth position.
