Martin Tungevaag (born July 9, 1993), better known as Tungevaag, is a Norwegian artist and music producer who has achieved international prominence with the German EDM label Kontor Records' electronic albums "Samsara 2015" and "Wicked Wonderland" and "PLAY" together with K-391 and Alan Walker.
He has been nominated for two awards in Norway and Sweden (Spellemannprisen and Grammis).
Career
Tungevaag's bedroom studio in 2008 began to investigate various digital audio workstations (DAW). He signed with and began his music career at Kontor Records in Germany in June 2014, scoring his first major hit in 2014 with "Wicked Wonderland." It was a summer hit, with performances at clubs and festival main stages all around Europe. "Wicked Wonderland" was later rated platinum in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Spain, as well as triple platinum in Sweden and Finland. On Spotify, the Austrian chart has topped the charts and there are over 130 million streams.
Tungevaag released "All for Love" through Warner Music in 2018, and Spinnin's "Million Lights" on Spinnin' Records in 2019. He worked with Alan Walker, K-391 and Mangoo, on a Mangoo version of "Play" later this year. On its day of debut on Spotify, the single was watched more than 760 thousand times and later rose to the top of the charts in Norway, México, Sweden, and Finland.
In its first year, Tungevaag's track "Dance," created in association with CLMD, received radio recognition and was streamed over 70 million times on Spotify. Both the Spellemann (Norwegian Grammys) and P3 Gull, Norway's largest radio station, were also named as Hit of the Year. It was awarded gold in Denmark, platinum in Sweden, and double platinum in Norway.
