Marla Gibbs (born Margaret Theresa Bradley; born June 14, 1931) is an American actress, comedian, writer, and television producer whose career spanned five decades.
Gibbs is best known for her role as Florence Johnston, George Jefferson's maid, on CBS' The Jeffersons (1975-1985), for which she received five nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Gibbs co-produced the latter film, as she sang the theme tune and appeared in the show's spin-off Checking In (1981) and the NBC sitcom 227 (1985–90); she also appeared in the show's spin-off 'Checking In (1981) and the NBC sitcom 227 (1985-1990);
Gibbs has received seven NAACP Image Awards.

Gibbs has been married once before and has had three children. Jordan Gibbs, a former high school sweetheart, was married to her high school sweetheart from 1955 to 1973; the couple had three children: Angela, Dorian, and Joseph. Susie Garrett, a late actress who appeared Cherie Johnson on the NBC series Punky Brewster, is her older sister. Angela, a daughter of the actor, appeared on Sanford and Son and films including Together Brothers, Drumline, and Think Like A Man Too. Gibbs attended the Leimert Park Village Book Fair in Los Angeles, California, on July 31, 2014, to honor Maya Angelou, who died on May 28, and Ruby Dee, who died on June 11. Natalie Cole, a Grammy Award-winning artist and former actor Jackée Harry, died on January 11, 2016, Los Angeles, California, alongside her husband Jackée Harry. In the television film Lily in Winter, Gibbs costarred opposite Cole.
