Mark Cwiertnia (born 11 January 1983), better known by the artistic name Mark Forster, is a German singer, songwriter and television personality.
In 2013, he became the vocalist of a duo cooperation, a musical project named Eff in association with DJ and music producer Felix Jaehn.
Career
Forster is of mixed German and Polish descent. His father was born in Dortmund, and his mother, Agnieszka wiertnya, was born in Warsaw. Marek is his mother's name, and in his early days as a musician, he used the term Marek wiertnia. He grew up in Winnweiler, Kaiserslautern (State: Rhineland-Palatinate), Germany. He then migrated to Berlin, where he concentrated on jingles for television, including for the show Krömer – Die Internationale Show. Kurt Krömer, an actor and comedian, appeared as a pianist sidekick from 2007 to 2010.
Forster formed Balboa as the band's frontman in 2006. He appeared on Kröm De La Kröm with Kurt Kröm, and in 2010 he was signed to German record label Four Music, where he also appeared in Kurt Kröm De La Kröm, where he debuted his album Karton in 2012. He appeared in the refrain in rapper Sido's hit "Einer dieser Steine" in November 2013. "Au revoir" was another big hit for Forster, this time with roles reversed—forster was listed as the primary artist and Sido was included in this single, as well as the highly awaited album Bauch und Kopf, which was released in 2013. The album was certified gold and featured "Au revoir" and two other hit singles, "Flash mich" and "Bauch und Kopf," the latter of which received Bundesvision Song Contest 2015.
Forster became a vocalist and music producer for the musical project Effor in 2015. In 2015, the two met at an event in Vienna. Eff is a nodal to Felix and Forster. For three weeks in a row, their debut single, "Stimme," dominated the German Singles Chart, as well as in Austria and Switzerland. Forster is a fan of 1.FC Kaiserslautern, a german football club.
