Marc Rizzo (born August 2, 1977) is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist of Soulfly and formerly of Ill Nio. * He has appeared on eight Soulfly albums to date: Prophecy, Dark Ages, Conquer, Omen, Enslaved, Savages, Archangel, and Ritual. * He has also released four solo instrumental albums; Colossal Myopia, The Ultimate Devotion, Legionnaire, and Rotation. Rizzo is also a member of Cavalera Conspiracy, a side project carried out by the co-founders of Sepultura, Max, and the Igor Cavalera. In 2008, the band released Inflikted, Blunt Force Trauma in 2011, and Pandemonium in 2014. Rizzo was playing guitar for Misfits in March 2015. * His first appearance with the band so far took place at Dutch Comic Con. * He joined Dead in June 2016 as a second guitarist. Rizzo's solo performance, although primarily known as a metal guitarist, shows an interest in a variety of styles, combining elements of hard rock, metal, jazz, classical, and flamenco guitars. * 2007 saw him headline his first US tour to sell out theaters around the country. Rizzo's two solo albums were released under Shrapnel Records in 2008 and are available on iTunes (iTunes.com). Peavey and Yamaha sponsored Rizzo and toured the world, where his tour schedule permitted. B.C. has endorsed Rizzo as of 2009. * Rich. In 2010, a seven-string Stealth model was created and made available to the public as an import model. * He uses PRS SE Custom 24 seven-string guitars. * He now plays a Washburn seven-string single-cut guitar. Rizzo and his younger brother Luke founded Phlamencore Records in 2004. Since being released two sampler CD's (international distro) and three full lengths, the artist has been releasing two sampler CD's (international distro) and three full lengths. Rizzo grew up in Carlstadt, New Jersey, where he attended Henry P. Becton Regional High School.
