Del Marquis Career

Solo career

Gruen produced the DVD Kuvaputki, which was released by Emeryoroom director Edward Quist in 2008 about Finnish noise artists Pan Sonic.

He began releasing solo material on Halloween 2008, starting with the song "Hot House," which was only available on his official website as a digital film. Embryoroom, the same director who made Kuvaputki, was behind the video. In addition to this, Del announced on November 6 that it would digitally debut a series of solo EPs, with one of them releasing the first Tuesday of every month from December 2008 to April 2009. These were among Joan Assassination Woman and Basement Jaxx's collaborations. On December 2, Hothouse, the first EP, was released. In September 2009, the Runaround EP was released, and it featured remixes from Baron von Luxxury and Lifelike. The other EPs were entitled Character Assassination and Litter to Society, with each having accompanying videos provided by Embryoroom.

The Gruen & Boys Choir of Harlem, a baptus Xavier who would later join the Slow Knights, collaborated on an EP titled Tickle. In February 2013, it was released as a free download on the internet.

In The Advocate's "Forty Under 40" issue of June/July 2009, Del Marquis was included on a list of openly gay entertainers.
