Luis Tejada Career

Club career

Tejada's debut in professional soccer was with Tauro in the local league, where he made a good impression and then migrated to Colombia to play with Colombian team Deportes Tolima. He was later transferred to Envigado's first division team in 2004, and after a stellar showing in the Gold Cup, he took off to the UAE.

In 2005, he signed a three-year deal with Al Ain, Abu Dhabi's capital. However, he did not achieve the same results in the Gold Cup, which explains why, shortly after finishing the AFC Champions League, he returned to Panama.

He returned to Panama for his second stint in Clausura of ANAPROF with the Plaza Amador, one of the best teams of the local football league, but he only appeared in a few games. His conditioning was not optimal, and he acquired the nickname "el gordito (fatty)" in honor of his corpulence. He moved to Colombia, where he spent a short time with ex Copa Libertadores Once Caldas, from which he was banned due to disciplinary issues. He then returned to Panama to play for Plaza Amador.

Tejada was signed by Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer on December 12, 2006, ahead of the 2007 season. He appeared for only two minutes in five games before being released by head coach Jason Kreis. He returned to Tauro, Panamanian, but did not play much because he was signed by Colombian side América de Cali so soon. During his brief stay in Panama, he scored 4 goals.

Matador scored only three goals in the Torneo Finalizacion 2007; however, he became a key player for América in the upcoming tournament. Tejada played 19 games in the Torneo Iniciacion 2008, where he scored 12 goals, becoming América de Cali's top-scoper and second in the tournament. In the final, Tejada defeated Boyacó Chicó. He was regarded as America's golden tooth by the Colombian press (el diente de oro del America) because of his golden tooth. Following the tournament, there was a lot of interest in Tejada, including from Argentina's River Plate; however, nothing was concrete. Unfortunately, Matador América's salary and pension were insufficient, so he was sold to Bogota's Millonarios, where he debuted in the Embajadores' victory over Deportes Quindo on August 16, 2008. Millonarios' unhappy time has come to an end. Tejada returned to Tauro once more, then went to Peru to compete for champions Juan Aurich. Tejada played an impressive 48 goals in 65 games and piqued the attention of teams from Mexico and Brazil, among other countries in the United States and Brazil. Tejada made the switch to Deportivo Toluca in late 2012 as a replacement for Uruguyan striker Iván Alonso. His spell at Toluca started promising after a late arrival, scoring four goals in 5 matches; however, his results and consistency dropped for the liguilla, the Clausura 2013, and Toluca's disappointing showing at Copa Libertadores. He joined Veracruz in the summer of 2013.

Tejada returned to Peru in December 2013, where he played with Juan Aurich for two years. He joined Universidad César Vallejo.

After being subjected to racial abuse from fans, Tejada walked off the field during a match against Cienciano on March 1st.

International career

Tejada made his Panama debut in a friendly match against Trinidad and Tobago in June 2001 and has, as of August 1, 2015, earned 88 caps, scoring 40 goals, making him Panama's all-time record goalscorer right ahead of Blas Pérez. Tejada scored a goal against Mexico in a World Cup 2006 qualifier match that tied Panama 1:1 against the CONCACAF giants, and he represented his country in 24 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and in March 2005, he scored a goal from an overhead kick against Mexico. Fox Sports named this target as the year's best goal.

Tejada aided Panama in the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup final, where they finished runners-up to the United States in the runner-up division. He scored three goals to finish as joint top scorer, but unfortunately, he missed his penalty kick against the United States in the final. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament for his efforts. Tejada is now the all-time top scorers in Panama history.

After receiving a red card, Tejada was suspended from the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-final against Mexico.

He was named in Panama's 23-man team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in May 2018.

Fans of the Boston Red Sox are left homeless at Fenway Park after Dylan Mulvaney's backlash leaves the line empty

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 5, 2023
As backlash to the Dylan Mulvaney commercial persists, Boston Red Sox fans were seen avoiding Bud Light at all costs during a packed Major League Baseball game. Mulvaney, 26, a woman who was consuming Bud Light at the start of April 2023, used the hashtag #budlightpartner. She jokingly shared the material to coincide with the NCAA March Madness tournament before revealing that she was unaware of what she was promoting. Despite Anheuser-Busch's announcement of first-quarter earnings of $1.65 billion, revenues for the American flagship beer have dropped 26%.
