Luis Moreno Life

Luis Moreno (born 19 March 1981) is a Panamanian football defender who plays for Tauro. During a league match between Junior de Barranquilla and Deportivo Pereira, he gained notoriety after kicking an injured barn owl who had landed on the ground.

Due to the kick, the barn owl died.

Club career

"Lucho" Moreno, a Panamanian boy, began playing football for Venezuelan side Deportivo Italia. In 2001, he was signed by Tauro, the first division team. He spent a brief time with Envigado in Colombia in 2005 and 2006 before returning to Tauro. In 2006, Peruvian Universitario de Deportes attempted to sign him, but the Peruvian side retained Tauro.

Moreno made his return to the Colombian league in January 2007 by joining Independiente Santa Fe. After a disciplinary play, the club halted his employment in May 2007. He returned to Tauro but Tiburones Rojos joined Mexican Primera División A shortly after.

Moreno was loaned to Deportivo Pereira in January 2011, but he returned to Tauro later this year, where he would help the club win their tenth league title in 2013.

International career

Moreno made his Panama debut in a friendly match against Venezuela in June 2000 and has earned 76 caps, scoring no goals. He represented his country in 17 FIFA World Cup qualification matches and has been a key player on the team, participating in the 2005, 2007, and 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup finals.

His last international match was September 2011 against Paraguay.
