Louise Dearman Life

Louise Dearman (born 13 March 1979) is a British actress and singer best known for her appearances in Wicked's West End production.

Notably, she is the only actress to have appeared in all of Wicked's performances.

Eva Perón of Evita, Sarah Brown and Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, and Daisy Hilton in Side Show are among her other acting appearances.

In 2005, 2012, and 2013, she released her solo albums, You and I, Here Comes the Sun and It's Time.

Early life

Dearman grew up in Linslade, Bedfordshire, attending Linslade Middle School and Cedars Upper School. She began dancing at the age of three and began considering a stage career after appearing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium as a child. She then went on to study at Laine Theatre Arts for three years after leaving high school, where she received their Musical Theatre Award and Opera Award, as well as being a contemporary of fellow West End performer Kerry Ellis.

Dearman began a life as the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat right after graduating from Laine in 1998. Then appeared in the ensemble Whistle Down the Wind in Bromley in 2000 and then returned to the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2003. Other roles where Dearman has appeared include Lucy Harris in Jekyll & Mimi, Mimi and understudy to Miss Adelaide and Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls (she later took over the role of Sarah Brown in the touring production of the show), Debbie in Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival Eva Perón in Cats, Cyprus.

Also on stage include Kiss Me, Kate at the Victoria Palace Theatre, Christmas Cat, and The Pudding Pirates (Highbarn, Great Bardfield), the Willian Finn revue Make Me a Song at the New Players Theatre, Belle, and the Brick by Brick workshop. In addition to this, she has appeared in a number of concerts; as a guest vocalist with Michael Ball in his Michael Ball: Past and Present tour; and in her one-woman performance You and I in various venues. Dearman has appeared in pantomime adaptations of Cinderella, as Cinderella in Stoke-On-Trent and in Milton Keynes in 2009, as the Fairy Godmother in Wimbledon in 2008.

In the London production of Wicked, she replaced Dianne Pilkington as Glinda the Good Witch on March 29. Elphaba was played by Rachel Tucker. The two actors had previously spoofed their roles in So Jest End, a show parodying the West End. On December 10, 2011, Dearman appeared in the final production and was replaced by Gina Beck.

Dearman appeared in London's West End on September 26, 2010, with composer Scott Alan's performance Simply the Music of Scott Alan. Patina Miller, Shoshana Bean, Ashleigh Gray, Sierra Boggess, Jodie Jacobs, Alex Gaumond, and Hadley Fraser were among the festival's participants. She performed "And It Is" as well as appearing in a group version of "Never, Neverland (Fly Away)" as a performer.

Dearman hosted a launch party for her latest album Here Comes the Sun at Bush Hall in London on May 13, 2012. Dearman performed all of the songs from the album for her followers, colleagues, and families. Dearman appeared in a new musical comedy adaptation of JM Barrie's Peter Pan, playing the role of Tinker Bell on June 28. Tim Driesen, Gerard Carey, and Lucy Sinclair attended a workshop at the Lyric Theatre in London.

It was announced on August 2nd that Dearman would make a return to Wicked this summer, but this time in the role of Elphaba, replacing her former co-star Rachel Tucker. She was the first actress to have performed both in lead roles in the musical as of 2020, and the first actress to have performed both starring roles in the musical as well as as the first one. On October 29, 2012, Dearman's first night as Elphaba was held. Glinda was played by Gina Beck, and Ben Freeman as Fiyero, and she appeared on Fiyero as Glinda. She was replaced by Dutch actress Willemijn Verkaik in the role on November 18, 2013, putting an end to her show contract.

Dearman appeared on the Proms in a semi-staged revival of Cole Porter's classic Kiss Me, Kate, as Lois Lane, accompanied by the John Wilson Orchestra on August 2, 2014.

In April 2014, it was announced that Dearman would play Mrs D in a new musical production based on The Water Babies, which premiered at Curve Theatre in Leicester, alongside fellow West End performers Tom Milner and Lauren Samuels.

Dearman appeared alongside Lance Ellington in a Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra concert on December 18, 2014, on the 18th of December, 2014.

In 2015, it was revealed that Dearman would appear in a new show dedicated to musical theater legend Judy Garland. On May 8, 2015, the Judy Garland Show premiered at the Edinburgh Playhouse, starring former X Factor runner-up Ray Quinn and Garland's own daughter Lorna Luft.

Dearman appeared at The Proms for the second time this year, in a special concert dedicated to Leonard Bernstein's music.

Dearman appeared in a previously announced one-off concert at the Prince Edward Theatre, the new home to Aladdin, on September 29th.

Dearman performed with the John Wilson Orchestra in a one-off UK tour in November 2015 honoring George Gershwin's music, and shortly after being confirmed as a guest vocalist for Josh Groban's sell-out tour in Manchester, Birmingham, London, and Paris, he appeared again.

Dearman will be playing Miss Adelaide in the United Kingdom tour of Guys and Dolls, and it was confirmed in February 2016. In August 2016, she appeared at the BBC Proms with the John Wilson Orchestra for the third year in a row. Daisy Hilton was first seen in the United Kingdom as Daisy Hilton. Premiere of Side Show at the Southwark Playhouse in a limited six-week run from October 21 to December 3, 2016.

Dearman was in Malta on July 17 for the BBC Radio 2 concert Lights, Camera, Malta. Among other common soundtracks, she performed theme songs from blockbusters A Star Is Born, Frozen. The BBC Concert Orchestra accompanied her. The New Victorians, Bradley Jaden, and Hannah Waddingham were among the evening's performers.
