Lee Min-woo Career

Career

Lee was scouted for the Everland dancing competition while performing for his band, Dicky Ducky, as a student at Jeonju Fine Arts School for the Everland dancing competition, and he was the fourth member of Shinhwa. Despite beginning as a rapper and a singer, Shinhwa stopped raping as Shinhwa began to release albums. He has choreographed some of Shinhwa's dances as a competent dancer.

Lee's debut as a solo artist in November 2003 under the stage name "M" was the first Shinhwa member to do so, as well as the first idol to do solo while still being in a group. According to the January 2004 chart, his first album, Un-Touch-Able, has sold in excess of 100,000 copies, and two lead tracks have been released for promotion: "Just One Night," the album's lead track, is a jazzy slow groove song and "Oh Rain." Lee reunited with Shinhwa in 2004 to work on their first album with Good Entertainment, Brand New, which was released in August 2004.

During this period, Lee recorded and released "If You" in March 2005. The single's revenue did not reach album level, but it did sell over 30,000 copies. Lee heavily promoted the single, with numerous live interpretations of other songs as a result. Lee's album was promoted with a "handsome" photograph rather than his sophisticated one, as the song was a light pop song. However, Lee stopped competing with him when fellow Shinhwa member Shin Hye-sung appeared on his solo debut.

Lee's second solo album, IInd Winds, was released in October 2005. The album's liner notes first released in two versions (including a limited "Lineage II") showed off a sexier Lee Min-woo as his new muscular body was prominently displayed; there were several photos of him in partial attire; his latest muscular body was clearly visible; many images of him in partial attire were posted. Lee's lead single, "Bump!" used the sexier photo. "This was a club-oriented dance hit," the singer sang. The song was released on YouTube and heavily choreographed performances, and his album sold 80 000 copies in the month of September. Good Entertainment (via EMI Korea, their distributor) released yet another version of the album to capitalize on the album's success. However, this one featured a completely new cover and special bonus songs, as well as a free VCD. As Lee's second single, "Girl Friend," a ballad about a lost love, was released, this "Girl Friend Version" was released. Lee changed his appearance once more, presenting a more cluttered, yet delicate image. "Girl Friend" was also a hit on Korea's music market, allowing Lee to market his album for more than four months, which was a rarity in the country's music industry. The album was also a strong seller, putting it 12th in MIAK's year-end charts with over 120,000 copies sold.

Lee opened his solo concert "M's Girl Friend" in Hwagok-dong on January 14 and 15, where he performed his solo hits as well as block and cover versions of "Tonight" and "Cover Girl" by New Kids on the Block. In the summer, the concert was broadcast on DVD. Lee made his debut in Wontak's Angel in the summer of 2006. He returned to Shinhwa for the remainder of the year, as well as the Shinhwa 2006 State of the Art concerts. He resumed his solo work at the end of 2006 with a promotional concert at Seoul Melon AX on December 2 and another in Shanghai on December 4. He was involved in the debut of new singer Sat's first single, which was released on December 12.

Lee formed M Rising Entertainment in 2007 to handle his solo career, while Shinhwa continued to perform under Good Entertainment. In January 2007, Lee attended the Hallyu Festival in Osaka, which also featured bandmate Jun Jin, Kangta of H.O.T, SG Wannabe, and actor Song Seung-heon.

On June 24, Lee appeared at American singer Christina Aguilera's Seoul concert as part of her Back to Basics Tour. Aguilera was reportedly viewing video clips sent by Korean artists to ensure the best was chosen. The artists were known for their dancing and singing abilities as well as album sales. On June 23, Ivy opened the first concert on June 23, while Lee performed on the second day.

Lee's third album Explore, which was in the R&B/dance style of his previous albums, was released in mid-July 2007. He had composed nine songs and his album debuted at number three on the charts. Despite he planned to broadcast it in the United States via CJ Music and CJ Entertainment's global network, it was instead released in Korea.

In 2008, Lee's third album, M Rizing, sold over 30,000 copies. On an online list, Lee's first single from the album was called Stomp, where it reached the top spot for two days in a row. His second album, "The M Style," was also very popular, gaining the charts in a similar fashion. Despite his songs' success, the album sales were not as good as its two predecessors, with the album falling off the Korean Monthly Chart more quickly. In February 2008, Lee released The Sentimental Reason, his first mini-album, in honor of Valentine's Day and White Day. It was sold out in less than a month only on a limited 13,000 copies. Lee's mini-album was enough to sell it with two singles, "Just One More Night" and "Believe In Love," respectively.

Lee Minnovation made a comeback with a mini album in June 2009. "Minnovation" is an American rapper that features electronica and hip hop beats, and he collaborated with American producer Outsidaz on a title track, "Minnovation." Lee was involved in a serious car accident on Christmas Eve, in which he sustained some serious injuries, according to a reporter in January 2010. In February, he appeared at M's Suite Room concert.

Lee was enlisted for 24 months of mandatory military service on February 25, 2010, the last Shinhwa members to do so. He completed four weeks of basic training followed by non-active service at Seoul Station. On March 2, 2012, he was discharged.

Lee, along with Eric Munn, co-CEO of Shinhwa Company, a joint venture company for Shinhwa, began operations as a company on July 1, 2011. The company runs the corporation as a whole, though individual members' individual accounts are handled by their respective departments. Shinhwa made their return to action in March 2012 after a four-year absence. On March 23, 2011, the group's tenth studio album The Return to Asia, as well as their first exclusive variety show Shinhwa Broadcast premiered on cable channel JTBC.

Lee appeared on the judging panel of a Chinese singing-survival show Asian Wave in August 2012, which was broadcast on Dragon Television from September 5. Lee and his bandmate Shin Hye-sung appeared at the West Bank Music Festival in Shanghai from September 30 to October 2, as K-Pop stars as well as others international celebrities, such as Michael Bolton, in front of a crowd of 100,000 viewers.

He signed a liveworks Company management firm in November 2012, which also handles bandmates Shin Hye-sung and Kim Dong-wan. Liveworks will oversee his solo projects, including album, performance, and in collaboration on recording songs and finding new talents. On December 23, 2012, Lee held his M Original Christmas Live concert. When they went on sale on November 2, the 4,000 tickets were sold out in two minutes.

Shinhwa's eleventh studio album was released on May 16, 2013. The performance was well-received and praised for its unique "Vogue" dancing. "That's Right" (; Geurae)), "New Me," "Hurricane"), and "I Gave You" were among the songs written by Lee-Minwoo. He appeared on Mnet's dance survival show Dancing 9 as one of the'masters' for the team's 'Red Wings.' Hyoyeon and Yuri also appear as'masters' for the opposing team 'Blue Eye' on the program.

In January 2014, it was revealed that Lee would be releasing a new mini album in honor of his tenth anniversary as a solo artist. The album will be titled "M+TEN" and will feature five new songs. "Taxi" was the lead single on the album. "Minwoo did his best to prepare the many songs for his 10th solo anniversary album with special care by specifically selecting and recording the songs," a few songs from the music video were added and his production team added to them. Not only does 'Taxi', which refers to an episode set in a taxi, have an addicting chorus, but special performances and more have been planned for the song.

Lee held the first fan meeting M's Record Shop' in three years since 2019, on the 24th and the 25th.
