Richard Morales Jr. (born July 18, 1979), also known by his stage name Gunplay, is an American rapper from Carol City, Florida.

Morales began his career in hip hop as a member of the Miami-based rapper Rick Ross' southern hip hop group, Triple C's.

In 2009, Triple C's debut album, Custom Cars & Cycles, was released.

Gunplay will reveal in July 2012 that he signed to Ross' Maybach Music Group label, which was founded in 2009.

Several mixtapes, such as 601 & Snort, were released by the artist.

Living Legend, his debut studio album, was released on July 31, 2015.

Early life

Morales spent some of his childhood in Opa-Locka, Florida, where he was born Richard Morales Jr. to a Puerto Rican father and Jamaican mother in 1979. Morales' parents divorced and the family split by age ten. His father went back to Puerto Rico. Morales, his mother, and his younger brother all settled in Carol City, which is located in Dade County. Morales dropped out of high school after being told he would have to repeat ninth grade. Morales began using and selling cocaine at age 16, and after his college days, Morales said he spent $600–700 a week on drugs and thousands.

Personal life

Richard Morales III, a gunplayer, has a son, Richard Morales III (b. ), is the author of a book about firearms. (2003 or 2004) with his ex-wife, whom he divorced in 2008. Gunplay is a sport in Santeria, with the belief that he had a "deeper relationship" with God when he first began attending it.

Music career

Rick Ross, a native of Carol City, and their passion for music led them to form Triple C's (Carol City Cartel), alongside rappers Torch and Young Breed. Custom Cars & Cycles, the group's debut album, debuted at number 44 on the United States, in 2009. Billboard 200.

Gunplay made his solo debut on Rick Ross' album "Gunplay" on his album "Deep Than Rap" in 2009. When appearing on featured tracks and appearing on collaborative albums, he released mixtapes under Maybach Music Group. He signed a solo deal with Def Jam in July 2012. In September 2012, he released 601 & Snort, his first mixtape. Critics lauded it and Spin magazine named it as the tenth best album of 2012. "Cartoon & Cereal," Kendrick Lamar's most popular guest appearance album, was ranked at No. 2 on Complex's Best 50 Songs of 2012 list. On January 18, 2013, Gunplay's mixtape Cops & Robbers was announced. On Dirty Diana's R.I.P., gunplay was featured. In June 2013, the Competition was announced. On Lil Wayne's album "Beat The Shit," he was also included.

Living Legend, Gunplay's debut album, was released on July 31, 2015. It was first announced in 2012, first with the name Bogota, then the term Medellin. Gunplay's album was described as "raw" and a "tru street album" by Gunplay. Rick Ross and Yo Gotti, among others, appear on the album, as well as other guests. It was supposed to include other collaborations, such as a track with Big Sean and a track called "Steel Drums," but no one appeared on it. "Tell 'Em," "Wuzhanindoe," "Be Like Me," and "Blood on the Dope" were among Living Legend's four singles. He is set to appear on Maybach Music Group's fourth joint album, Self Made 4.
