Early life and education
Lasizwe was born in Soweto, South Africa. He attended Meredale Primary, a mixed-race primary school in Meredale, south of Johannesburg, and then transferred to Mondeor High School in Mondeor. Lindiwe Dambuza (died in 2016) was a 40-year-old nurse at Lesedi Private Hospital in a loving relationship with his father, Menzi Mcunu.
Zonke Nkabinde, his brother, accompanied him in his childhood, was instrumental in his development, coaching and protecting him. Lasizwe discovered something different about him: he was uncomfortable around boys but could relate to any feminine topic. He discovered he was gay at the age of 15.
Career
Lasizwe's mother took him for television auditions on a weekly basis across Gauteng from primary school to university. She sat down and told him that the weekly auditions were no longer financially viable for their families. He participated in several competitions that didn't have phones or audio-visual equipment. It was when he won a phone from a radio contest that he used to start creating his first batch of content. He burned the videos onto DVD discs and watched himself on the television screen, using his mother's laptop to film and learn basic video editing. The drive to be on television prompted him to post videos on Facebook and later produce relatable South African content. Ek Sal Doom Jou, his first breakout film based on news of a notorious pastor who sprayed the faces of his congregations with insect repellent in church. The video went viral, resulting in other companies contacting him for commercials.
Between 2020 and 2021, he raised R2 million to assist students who were in need of registration fees between 2020 and 2021. This was in light of the student protests in South Africa, where students were calling for 'Fees must fall' and affected the lives of 313 students by the "R10 goes a long way" campaign.
