Krizz Kaliko Career

Career

Krizz Kaliko began his musical career in the late 1990s when he started working with local producer IcyRoc Kraven. At the time, another local rapper by the name of Tech N9ne was also working with IcyRoc, resulting in the two rappers meeting. At the time, Tech N9ne was working on a song titled "Who You Came To See" and Kaliko made a remark that the song might have a better hook. When Kaliko did not succeed, Tech gave up the opportunity to prove his case, and Tech was blown away by his results. Kaliko will be welcomed into his "inner circle," which will lead to the incorporation of Kaliko by Tech N9ne and Travis O'Guin in the new name Strange Music co-owned by Tech N9ne and Travis O'Guin.

Since then, Kaliko has frequently contributed to Tech N9ne's albums, whether as a rapper or simply providing background vocals for tracks on the album. Although the bulk of his work is focused on his experiences with Tech N9ne, Kutt Calhoun, Rittz, and his colleagues Skatterman & Snug Brim, Ces Cru, and Prozak. Other collaborations include music from the Kottonmouth Kings, Potluck, E-40, T-Pain, Twiztid, Andy Mineo, Chris B, and BTS' RM.

Vitiligo, his debut album released on May 6, 2008, debuted on several Billboard charts, with one of them debuting at number 19 on the Top Independent Albums during the week of May 28, 2008. He peaked at number 167 on the Billboard 200 this week.

Genius, his second studio album, was released on July 14, 2009.

In the film Big Fan, which stars Patton Oswalt, a number of his songs can be heard in the background of the strip club scenes.

For his third studio album, Kaliko selected the term Shock Therapy. Son of Sam and Walk on Water were among his other titles considered by the author.

On May 17, 2011, S.I.C., his first EP, was released. From their second album, GoodFellaz, he appeared on Winnipeg's Most's second single, "Forgive Me" in June 2011.

Kaliko's fourth studio album, titled Kickin' and Screamin', was released on May 15, 2012. It's currently the highest-charging album on the Billboard 200. The album features works by long-time collaborator Tech N9ne, as well as rappers Twista, Chamillionaire, T-Pain, Twiztid, and Rittz, although the recording is largely handled by Seven.

Kaliko's second EP, Neh'mind, was released in November. Snow Tha Product's "Damage" album was selected as the lead single. On December 14, a video for "Damage" was shot and posted on YouTube, and it attracted over 100,000 viewers in less than two weeks.

Son of Sam, Kaliko's fifth album, was released on August 27, 2013. It features guest appearances from Tech N9ne, CES Cru, Kortney Leveringston, IcyRoc Kravyn, and his wife Crystal Watson. The album debuted at number 56 on the Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 8,000 copies in the United States.

Kaliko's sixth studio album, GO, was released on April 8, 2016. Unlike his previous albums, which were largely hip-hop, GO is his first R&B/pop album. Tech N9ne, Stevie Stone, Rittz, Rittz, CES Cru, Wrekonize, and JL B.Hood have been included on the album. It went on to chart as the best-selling Rap album on Billboard and number 28 in the Top 200.

On October 6, 2019, Kaliko revealed that he will not leave Strange Music on social media. On October 20, 2019, however, he seemed to have a change of heart after securing a new deal with Strange Music on stage.

Kaliko's seventh album, Legend, was released on September 18, 2020, his first project in four years.

It was revealed on May 15, 2021, during Kaliko's virtual concert series "The Reveal" that he had left Strange Music to form his own company Ear House Inc. with his wife Crystal.

In the third chapter of Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy, Kaliko voiced Dinobot, as well as Leroy Smith in the English dub of Tekken: Bloodline, which appeared on August 18, 2022.
