Kris Carr (born August 31, 1971) is a New York Times and top-selling author, wellness advocate, and cancer survivor.

In her documentary film Crazy Sexy Cancer, she chronicled her battle against epithelioid hemangiothelioma. Crazy Sexy Diet and Crazy Sexy Kitchen, two New York Times bestsellers, were written.

Early life

Carr grew up in Pawling, New York, and attended the Wooster School in Danbury, Connecticut. She studied dance and Italian at the School of Performing Arts in New Milford, Connecticut, where she studied dance and Italian. Carr attended Sarah Lawrence College and later Marymount Manhattan College, where she majored in English Literature and Art History.

Personal life

Carr and her husband, Brian Fassett, live in Woodstock, New York; the couple married in 2006.

Early career

Carr began her work as a dancer, actress, and photographer in New York City. She appeared on and off Broadway, as well as in film and television as an actress. She appeared on television shows such as Law & Order and hundreds of commercials, most prominently as a Budgier beer Super Bowl girl in two Budweiser beer Super Bowl commercials. Carr appeared in Arthur Miller's Mr. Peters' Connections, in which she played Marilyn Monroe's ghost and appeared in the 2001 independent film "Five Years" (Five Years). Carr directed and choreographed stage productions both nationally and internationally, as well as being a faculty member of Stone Street Studios and Playwrights Horizons Theater School, both at NYU.
