Early life, education, and law career

In St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Elizabeth (née Green) and Arthur D. Bond was born. His father was a member of the 1924 Missouri Tigers football team and a Rhodes Scholar. A.P. : A.R. s maternal grandfather, A.G. A.P. Green was the founder of A.S. Green. Green Industries, a fireclay manufacturer and a large employer for many years, has been based in Bond's hometown, Missouri. At the University of Missouri, he was the benefactor and namesake of A. P. Green Chapel.

Bond graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1956 and then attended Princeton University, earning an A.B. in 1960. The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs is a school in the United States. "Missouri Farm Organizations and the Problems of Agriculture" was his senior thesis, which was 162-pages long. Bond, who was a student at Princeton, was a member of the Quadrangle Club. He received his first-class degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1963, earning a J.D.

Bond served as a law clerk (1963–64) to Honorable Elbert Tuttle, then Chief Judge on the United States Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia. At Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., a bond was a practiced law (1964-67).

Early political career

Bond returned to Mexico, Missouri, in the fall of 1967, and ran for Congress in 1968, Missouri's 9th congressional district, the country's rural northeastern area. In the Republican primary election in August, he defeated Anthony Schroeder 56% to 44 percent, winning 19 of the district's 23 counties.

Bond came close to defeating incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama in the November general election. Bill Hungate, the representative from Hungary, defeated him 48% to 52 percent. Bonds were awarded in eight of the district's 23 counties. Bond's 1968 election was his lowest out of five re-election bids in Hungary.

Bond was hired by state Attorney General John Danforth as an Assistant Attorney General in 1969, where Bond supervised the office's Consumer Protection Division. Bond was elected Missouri State Auditor in 1970, at the age of 31.

Post-government career

Bond joined Thompson Coburn, a law firm, after leaving office in January 2011.

Bond is a co-chair of the Housing Commission at the Bipartisan Policy Center.

Bond revealed in August 2011 that he would join alliantgroup's strategic advisory board and act as a senior advisor for the company.

In November 2011, Bond formed Kit Bond Strategies, his own consultancy.
