Kerry Isabelle Greenwood, born in Footscray, Victoria, Australia, on June 17th, 1954, is an Australian author and advocate.

Early life and education
Greenwood grew up in Footscray, Victoria, where she now lives. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (English) and Bachelor of Laws degrees at Geelong Road State School (now Footscray Primary School), Maribyrnong College, and the University of Melbourne, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1979. Greenwood worked at a women's refuge at university.

Career
Greenwood was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1982 and spent full time as a criminal defense prosecutor for Victoria Legal Aid until becoming a qualified journalist. Since that time, she has served as a locum duty solicitor for Legal Aid, based in the Sunshine Magistrates' Court.
She began writing books at the age of sixteen, but her name was unpublished. She entered one of her eight books for the Vogel Award in 1988; although not as popular, one of the judges gave her a two-book deal.
Honours Greenwood was given the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2020 (OAM).
