Professional wrestling career

On May 30, 2006, Rae made her professional wrestling debut as Kay Lee Ray at SWA Battlezone, defeating a Battlezone Rumble to determine the top contender for the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Championship. Ray won the SWE Speed King Championship on August 9, 2014, defeating Martin Kirby. Candice LeRae, Nixon Newell, and Saraya Knight defeated SWE Queen of Southside Championship on February 28, 2015. Ray lost the championship to Newell in a tag team competition where Jimmy Havoc, Newell's tag team rival, defended his Speed King Championship against El Ligero, Ray's tag team rival. In a Loser Leaves Southside match on December 27, she was defeated by Ligero. Ray captured the Queen of Southside Championship in a three-way match against Alex Windsor and Jade on August 7, a title she lost two months later to Melina. Ray WCPW Women's Championship from Viper, who had swapped Bea Priestley in the match on June 16, 2017, was WCPW Built to Destroy.

Ray made her Insane Championship Wrestling debut at The Notorious I.C.W. Carmel was defeated by Carmel on 6 February 2011. Who Yer Da? She defeated Viper in a tournament final on May 4, 2013, her first championship victory. Ray and Stevie Boy unsuccessfully applied for the coveted ICW Tag Team Championship in Shug's Hoose Party on July 27, 2014, a match that was dominated by BT Gunn and Chris Renfrew. She lost the Fierce Females Championship, now called the Scottish Women's Championship, to Viper in a 20-Woman Rumble on May 29, 2015, putting an end to Ray's reign at 755 days. Ray battled Nikki Storm and Viper in a three-way match for the inaugural ICW Women's Championship, which was dominated by Viper on November 15, 2015. Ray defeated Viper and champion Carmel Jacob in a three-way match at Fear & Loathing IX on November 20, 2016. Ray lost the ICW Women's Championship in 37 seconds to Kasey Owens in 29 seconds on Saturday at Shug's Hoose Party IV. She won it back at 1st month of Fight Club tapings. In a three-way steel cage match involving Viper, she lost the title to Owens at Fear & Loathing X next month. Ray took the Women's Championship from Viper on December 2nd, 2018, defeating Fear and Loathing XI.

On the second season of TNA Black Boot Camp, Ray appeared for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). On August 16, she appeared in a four-way match won by Nikki Storm and also involved Kasey Owens and Leah Owens. On September 6, her second match was a loss taped in an eight-person tag team match against Angelina Love, Grado, and Mark Andrews. On the final, she was announced to be in the top three competitors after losing to Gail Kim in a losing effort. Andrews won the show and the TNA deal. Ray returned to TNA Xplosion taped in the United Kingdom on January 29, 2015, with the first being a victory for David Smith, Darjee and Crazzy Steve against Brown, Dave Mastiff, Madison Rayne, and Samuel Shaw.

Ray won the vacant WOS Women's Championship in a three-way match against Bea Priestley and Viper at the 5th Anniversary of Sport Wrestling, on May 5th. She defended the title on subsequent episodes in a royal and a singles match against Viper. Ray lost her title in a three-way match on January 19, 2019, on a WOS house show tour tour, after being successfully pinned by Viper.

Ray made her one-off WWE debut at the NXT tapings on October 8, 2015, losing to Nia Jax. She will compete in WWE again in 2017 as one of 32 participants in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, where she defeated Princesa Sugehit in the first round on July 13. She took part in a six-woman tag team competition next night as part of the WWE Mae Young Classic – Road To The Finals tournament, where she team up with Jazzy Gabert and Tessa Blanchard to defeat Marti Belle, Santana Garrett, and Sarah Logan.

NXT Takeover: Blackpool's 12 January 2019 Ray and Jazzy Gabert were on ringside with Blackpool's Ray and Jazzy Gabert. Ray's first deal with WWE was revealed later this year, marking Ray's first deal with WWE. Ray made her NXT UK in-ring debut as a villain on March 13, defeating Candy Floss. Ray won a battle royal to gain the right to face NXT Women's Champion Toni Storm at a time of her choosing on June 19 in NXT UK. Ray said she will meet Storm at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff on July 3rd. Takeover: Ray was the first British-born wrestler to win the NXT Women's Championship, defeating Storm to win the NXT UK Women's Championship.

Ray interfered during a "WarGames Advantage" ladder match between Shayna Baszler's team member Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley's team member Mia Yim, helping Shirai win the match and naming herself as the fourth member of Baszler's team in the first ever Women's WarGames Match. At NXT Takeover: WarGames, Ripley's crew will continue and defeat Baszler's team. Ray returned and joined Bianca Belair and Io Shirai in a six-woman tag team match against Storm, Ripley, and Candice LeRae in a losing effort on January 8, 2021.

Ray will defend the NXT UK Women's Championship against Storm and Piper Niven in a triple threat match at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II on December 12. At Takeover: Blackpool II, Ray will continue to defend her title against Storm and Niven. Ray maintained her position against Storm on the 27th episode of NXT UK, with the stipulation that if Storm loses, she will no longer be able to challenge Ray as long as she is champion. After Niven watched Ray viciously attack Storm during the "I Quit" match, Ray launched a feud with Niven. Ray and Jinny successfully defeated Niven and Dani Luna on the 2nd of April's NXT UK episode.

Ray retained her title against Niven on the 24th episode of NXT UK. After Ray insulted Niven, Ray and Niven's feud erupted, so Niven came out and struck Ray in the ring and backstage. Ray was able to defend her title against Niven in a Falls Count Anywhere Match on November 19, when Jinny intervened as a result of Niven's disrespect of her two weeks prior. Ray retained her status in a championship match against Jinny on the January 21 episode and Meiko Satomura on NXT UK's March 4 episode. Ray lost the title to Satomura on the 10th of June 2021, snapping her record-breaking run to 649 days.

The NXT Takeover 36 has been on display at NXT. Ray made her NXT debut with her appearance at the NXT Women's Championship match between Raquel González and Dakota Kai. Ray distracted Mandy Rose during her match against Cora Jade on November 23, causing Rose to forfeit the match. She joined Io Shirai's team at NXT WarGames later that night. At WarGames, her squad was victorious; during the game she teased turning on her team but instead, she turned and assault Kai. Ray will unsuccessfully challenge Mandy Rose for the NXT Women's Championship on February 8th episode of NXT due to Toxic Attraction's interference. Io Shirai and her brother were competing in the 2022 Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, beating Amari Miller and Lash Legend in the first round, Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter in the semifinals, and Dakota Kai and Wendy Choo in the finals shortly after. This will result in a fatal-four match at NXT Stand & Deliver, where she failed to win the NXT Women's Championship last year. Ray's name was changed to Alba Fyre on the NXT episode on April 26.

Fyre will face Amari Miller in her first match since her name change on May 10 of NXT. Fyre was assaulted by Lash Legend after defeating Tatum Paxley on the June 7 episode of NXT, igniting a feud between the two characters. Legend defeated Legend on the June 21 episode of NXT by disqualification (after Legend used Fyre's own bat) and on the August 2 episode, Fyre will defeat Legend.
