In 2012, Valentine unveiled her first mixtape Route 80. "Bubble Gum" and "Hip-Hojack Joan Jett" were among YouTube's most popular hits. Valentine debuted the EP Valentine in 2013, peaking at number 38 on the iTunes R&B charts. Red Velvet, the singer's second mixtape, debuted on July 8, 2014. Scarlet Letter, her studio album, was released in 2016. Feminem, Valentine's third mixtape, was dubbed a salute to rapper Eminem. In 2019, she debuts her album Favorite Vibe, which gained over a million streams in its first two weeks and debuts in the top 30 hip hop charts.
