Julie Roginsky (born April 25, 1973) is a Democratic Party strategist and television personality.

She was a contributor with the Fox News Channel; appearing mainly as a co-host on Outnumbered, and occasional co-host of The Five.

Prior to working at Fox News, she was a contributor at CNBC.

Her columns have appeared in FoxNews.com, CNBC.com, Politico, Forbes and the Star-Ledger.

Early life

Roginsky was born in Moscow, Soviet Union, to Abram and Tanya Roginsky, who were Soviet dissidents of Jewish descent. She was primarily raised by her grandparents until she and her parents were allowed to leave the Soviet Union in 1980. Her grandparents were prohibited from leaving the Soviet Union and became Refusniks for over a decade until they, too, emigrated to the United States in 1990. Prior to settling in the United States, Roginsky and her family lived briefly in Paris and London.

Roginsky was raised in New York City and Plainsboro Township, New Jersey. She graduated from Princeton Day School and was awarded both her B.A. and M.A. from Boston University.

Personal life

Roginsky lives in New York City. In 2012, she gave birth to her first son, Zachary Peter Roginsky.

Career in politics

Roginsky was first recruited by EMILY's List to support Dale McCormick's congressional campaign, who was running in a Democratic congressional primary in Maine's 1st congressional district. Roginsky served with Rep. Frank Pallone of New Jersey, whose campaign she won against Mike Ferguson after the election.

When the Democratic caucus gained three seats in the General Assembly in 1999, Roginsky was the first woman to head the New Jersey Democratic Coordinated Campaign. She then served as the communications director of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. On her assent to the Senate in 2001, she became Jon Corzine's Washington, D.C.-based Communications Director.

Roginsky founded Comprehensive Communications Group, a public relations and research firm that has served for Fortune 500 companies, elected officials, and non-profit organizations. Senators Cory Booker and Frank Lautenberg, Representative Albio Sires, Steve Rothman, and Frank Pallone have all worked with the firm.

Roginsky has served on the Board of Directors for Yale University's Women's Campaign School, a non-partisan leadership effort whose aim is to increase the number of women in elected and appointed office since 2005. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and former Rep. Gabby Giffords were among the school's graduates.

Career in television

Roginsky debuted as a Democratic strategist on Fox News in 2004. She was recruited by CNBC as an on-air contributor in 2009, where she also wrote columns for CNBC.com. She was recruited by Fox News as an on-air contributor in 2011. She also contributes columns to the FoxNews.com website. She has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, and HLN in the past.

In 2017, Roginsky filed a lawsuit against Fox News, Roger Ailes, and Bill Shine alleging sexual assault. She resigned in December 2017 after settling the lawsuit in December 2017. Roginsky said that Ailes would have sex with him permanently, and that she would have retaliation against her if she refused. Despite her ongoing court allegations against the network, Roginsky appeared in news segments on Fox News in April 2017, but she was forced to leave on June 30, 2017.
