www.dailymail.co.uk, December 13, 2023
Julian Morrow has been left with a more than $2.5 million fine after his defamation suit against fellow television director Nick Murray sorely backfired. The Checkout (right), a consumer affairs program that aired on ABC for six seasons, was produced by Morrow and Murray. Murray decided to sell Morrow's production company for $50 before finding that his onetime partner was pitching a show similar to The Checkout to the ABC without him. Murray referred to Morrow as the chief villain from Harry Potter's books and films in an email to ABC executives. Morrow's charges were dismissed, and the Supreme Court has now declined to hear an appeal against that decision.
