Juan Mara Solare (born August 11, 1966) is an Argentine composer and pianist.
Education
Solare, a native of Argentina, studied and obtained his piano diploma (Mario Benzecry) at the Conservatorio Nacional de Mátin de Mópez Buchardo, Argentina. He also worked privately with Francisco Kröpfl.
He undertook postgraduate studies on Composition at the Musikhochschule in Cologne (Germany) from 1993 to 1996 under the direction of Johannes Fritsch, Clarence Barlow, and Mauricio Kagel, as part of a German Academic Exchange Service scholarship. (DAAD) He did postgraduate studies with Helmut Lachenmann in Stuttgart between October 1997 and February 1999. (Between July 1998 and June 1999, he received a scholarship from the Heinrich-Strobel Foundation (Baden-Baden). Hans Ulrich Humpert, a diploma, studied electronic music in Cologne between 1999 and 2001. He was composer in residence at the Art colony Worpswede, Germany, from June 2001 to May 2002.
He earned the Instituto Universitario Nacional del Arte (IUNA) in Buenos Aires in April 2005. Since 1993, he has regularly attended and participated in Karlheinz Stockhausen's seminars. On December 5, 2007, he passed the Konzertexamen (master) in electroacoustic composition at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. At the University Complutense de Madrid, he is currently working on a PhD in music education.
