Club career
Bond, who was educated at Berkhamsted School, rose to Watford's academy system, where he spent time in both the youth and reserve teams at Vicarage Road. During the 2010–11 season Bond appeared on the Watford bench several times as cover for the injured Rene Gilmartin, as well as time on loan at Brackley Town.
Bond joined Brackley Town on loan in August 2011 to gain some playing experience. Bond was then sent on loan to Forest Green Rovers in Watford on November 4, 2011. Bond won by 4–1 over Alfreton Town on his first day with Forest Green in a 4–1 victory. Bond made four appearances for Forest Green during his loan period and was recalled a week before Watford.
Bond served as deputy goalkeeper to Scott Loach on the replacements bench in the Championship, and on his return to Watford, he was named deputy goalkeeper on the substitutes bench, and he made his first team debut against Portsmouth on January 2nd, 2012.
Bond signed Dagenham & Redbridge, a League Two team, on a month-long loan agreement on February 23, 2012. He continued on loan with Bury until the end of the season and made his debut in the 3–0 loss at Brentford on April 7.
After starting Watford's FA Cup loss to Manchester City on January 5, 2013, Bond won a 2–1 victory over Derby County on February 23, 2013. Manuel Almunia, who was on alert, suffered in the accident. Bond made his first league appearance against Wolverhampton Wanderers on March 1, 2013. He then began to deputise against Sheffield on March 5, 2013 and then on March 9, 2013, then on March 8, 2013 and again against Burnley on March 29, 2013, all in place of the injured Almunia. Bond got off to a slow start against Hull City in a 1–0 win on April 2, 2013, his first clean sheet in a man of the match appearance, with Almunia out of shape.
After Almunia was strained in the warm-up, Bond was deputized in the final league game of the season against Leeds United on May 4th, 2013. After a horrific crash with Ikechi Anya and Dominic Poleon, which ended him off on a stretcher, Bond sustained a serious injury of his own.
Bond signed for Reading on a three-year contract with Watford for an undisclosed fee.
Bond did not join Gillingham on loan until January 7, 2017.
Bond signed Peterborough United on a six-month loan on June 26, 2017, extending the loan until the end of the season.
Bond joined West Bromwich Albion as a free agent on July 16, 2018. As the club lost in the 2018-19 EFL Championship play-offs to rivals Aston Villa, Bond served as back-up to first-choice keeper Sam Johnstone. However, the team recovered from last year to finish runners-up in the 2019-20 EFL Championship, gaining promotion back to the Premier League. Bond was released from the club after his deal came to an end on August 1, 2020. Albion re-signed Bond on a one-year contract before the 2019–21 Premier League season starts.
Bond departed to the United States on January 14th, 2021, to join the LA Galaxy, a Major League Soccer team.
International career
Bond has performed internationally for Wales at under-17 years, and he scored his 88th minute equalizing goal in Wales' 2–1 Uefa Under-17 Championship qualifying match against Russia in October 2009. He later progressed to under-19 levels and was called up to under-21 squads. Bond, who was 17 years old at the time, was called up to the full Wales squad for two Euro 2012 qualifiers, but he did not participate in the competition.
Despite his caps for Wales, Bond had chosen to join the English national pool and was called into the English under-21 squad in August 2013. In a 9-0 victory over San Marino, he made his England under-21 debut on 19 November, replacing Jack Butland at halftime.
