As the once-white hot market slows, house prices in Cornwall begin to decline after the boom

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 2, 2024
After the market, which boomed during the pandemic crisis, has now cooled, the property market in Cornwall began to decline. Cornwall houses and flats are now selling for less than half of what they were selling for, and it can take more than two months to sell. According to estate agents Hamptons, Cornwall's average property price has increased by 35% to £313,420 since 2019.

In time for the spring sales season, here are seven ways to raise the kerb appeal of your house

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 27, 2024
Anyone selling their house on the market may invest a fortune on a new kitchen, paint rooms neutral beige, or de-clutter, but it won't sell if the location doesn't have kerb appeal. Some 68% of people said they would not buy if they didn't like the front of the house. According to landscaping company Marshalls' report, nearly every person admits that their impression was generated within a minute.

Cowboy builders are seen joking about the rip off elderly customers on a sickening video

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 17, 2023
In a sickening video where they openly mocked a pensioner to his face, a group of cowboy builders sang of ripping off the elderly with costly 'bodges'. Matty Rossiter, 18, James Rossiter, 25, and Dean Smith, 21, are seen laughing and joking at John Bray, 82, as they repaired a handful of tiles on his roof for £8,000. At one point they asked him: 'John, we're having quite a lot of money for this, aren't we?' Whilst sniggering about the paucity of work they were doing on his Wiltshire bungalow, they were also sniggering over the paucity of the work. One guy even wrapped their arm around him as they ripped him off and said: "We find guys like this every day." Mr Bray's uncle, Steve, told the BBC that the company was 'despised' and that he suspected his mother's death was partly due to the fraud. The conmen were sentenced to £45,000 in offences committed in 18 separate Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and Bristol.
