Chris Arreola Career

Amateur career

Archiela grew up in East Los Angeles. Hector Rodrez, his father, a boxer, started boxing at the age of eight, and he started boxing with him. He had "about 200 amateur bouts" before losing interest and quitting at 16. At 20 years old, he recovered from boxing, and after only three months of preparation, he captured the National Golden Gloves in the Light Heavyweight division. Chris won over Dallas Vargas, who had seen about 300 amateur fights at the time.

He attempted to return to the Golden Gloves after another hiatus, this time for two years, but he was forced to turn pro right away shortly after the check-in deadline.

Professional career

Goossen-Tutor promoted him and made him pro at heavyweight with little fanfare in 2003. "I really didn't know if boxing was going to be my career," the entrepreneur says. I wasn't positive about turning pro, and once I did, I went it one fight at a time. "I started kicking guys out, and I began to worry that doing this might help."

He defeated Domonic Jenkins, who had a record of only 6–3 victories over Malcolm Tann (and later KOd amateur stars Victor Bisbal and Carlos Barnett) in 2005. He turned the game around and won by KO after trailing for six rounds.

Damian Norris, Cuban Damian Norris (who later defeated Unbeaten Roderick Willis), and Damian Wills, a streak of unbeaten Californian prospects, came in at 22–0–0–0.

In 2007, he defeated former amateur star Zakeem Graham (11–0). On June 4, he was supposed to face undefeated Olympian Devin Vargas, brother of his amateur rival Dallas Vargas, but then Vargas was forced to pull out late sub Malcolm Tann, but on ShoBox, he was scheduled to face late sub Malcolm Tann. In round 1, he KO'd Thomas Hayes (record 27–0–0), which was round one in September 2007.

Arola defeated Chazz Witherspoon (23-0) on June 21, 2008, defeating him by disqualification.

Arola defeated Travis Walker in the third round on November 29, 2008, extending Arca's record to 26–0.

Arguez was ranked in the top ten by all four major regulatory agencies by June 2008.

On April 11, 2009, Arco KO's) defeated Jameel McCline, the previously fought heavyweight champion (40-8 23 KO's), who was defeated by a landslide at 2:01 of the 4th round.

Arola was the top contender to face Vitali Klitschko for his WBC Heavyweight title belt after his triumph. When it was revealed that they would fight in Arcola's hometown, Arola was content with his draw. The game took place on September 26, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It was shown on HBO for the first time. The corner and the referee called the match off before the 11th round, giving Klitschko a 10th-round RTD (TKO) victory. The final scorecards for Klitschko were 99–91, 99–91, and 100–89, respectively.

Arguola vs. Sergio Martez fight was the first fight of his career. In the 4th round, Chris landed with his straight right hand and eventually floored Minto, while Minto was knocked out with right hands until being dropped again. As Minto rose at 9 and seemed to be in no way to continue with the war, the referee called a truce.

By majority vote on April 24, 2010, Arola lost his next fight to former two-division world champion Tomasz Adamek. At the time of the fight, Arcola was showing signs of being out of shape for a professional boxer.

Manuel Quezada was defeated in his next fight by a 12-round unanimous decision in Ontario, California. Quezada was defeated three times in the competition, twice in the 9th round and once in the 12th. The scores (117–108) were compiled by the students (118–107). Arguello said in an interview with ESPN that his last two losses were due to a lack of preparation (as well as skipping days) and that the training camp was weighing nearly 300 pounds. He said he now knows how to prepare for a fight and acknowledges he must attend the training camp seriously. He fought his best at 230-240, lost his previous two weighing over 250 pounds) and battled a tough opponent at 256 pounds (he came in at 256 pounds), but fought sluggishly against a strong foe. Arguella said he received a C* for overall results at the end of the game.

Arguably defeated Nagy Aguilera in the third round after being knocked out by American Joey Abell on ESPN. This bout was shown on Showtime's Andre Ward vs. Arthur Abraham undercard. As the main-event on ESPN, thirteen days after the fight with Aguilera, Cristobal knocked out tough veteran Kendrick Releford in the seventh round. He has since then defeated Friday Ahunanya by a 10-round unanimous verdict on July 9, as well as a third-round TKO over Raphael Butler in Guanajuato Domo De La Feria, Leon, Mexico.

On February 18, 2012, Arola's next fight was the Paul Williams versus. Nobuhiro Ishida undercard at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Éric Molina, a heavyweight champion, was up against him. Arguello defeated the fight by a first-round KO. Arguing caused a lot of drama during the post-fight interview when he referred to Molina's promoter Don King as a "f—hole and a bigote," prompting Showtime's Jim Gray to immediately call off the interview. Arguella wrote, "I'm honestly Don King called me a wetback and some Mexicans." "That's a strong word." It's like me dropping N bombs. "You shouldn't say things like that."

When Armane Stiverne confronted Bermane Stiverne in April 2013, he had a chance to rematch with Vitali Klitschko. Despite being a favorite to win the contest, Arola was disqualified in the third round and ended up losing a unanimous verdict.

Arola defeated Seth Mitchell in a single round on September 7, 2013.

Archie Stiverne was signed to face Bermane Stiverne for the vacant title after Klitschko vacated the title in December 2013. After a sixth-round knockout, Stiverne claimed the title on May 10, 2014.

Arola returned to the ring on March 13, 2015, to face Curtis Harper, a heavyweight. On Spike TV television broadcast at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA, the brawl took place during the first Premier Boxing Champions. Following 8 rounds of boxing, Archiela was deemed winner by unanimous vote.

Arguello and Fred Kassi battled it out in a ten-round draw on July 18, 2015. On the remaining two cards, the scores were 96–94 for Arola, 95–95 on the remaining two cards.

After Arola's close 12-round split decision over Travis Kauffman on Dec. 12 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, the decision was changed to a no-decision on Jan. 5.

When Arola travelled to Birmingham, Alabama, on July 16, 2016, to face WBC champion Deontay Wilder, he made his third attempt at the WBC heavyweight title. Wilder claimed his title by 8th round retirement and kept his position.

Arola defeated Adam Kownacki in a thrilling match on August 3, 2019. Following his demise to Deontay Wilder, Arnola won in two straight victories. Both men put on a record-breaking heavyweight display at the Barclays Center in New York, throwing over 2100 punches in less than 12 rounds. Kownacki made a unanimous decision to dismiss Argula's sixth career defeat, with scores of 118–110, 117–111, 117–111.

Following Arson's disappointment to Adam Kownacki, the young king returned to the ring a year later on May 1, 2021 to face former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. on Fox PPV. Ruiz Jr. was ranked #6 by The Ring, #4 by the WBC, and #5 by the WBA and WBO, respectively. Arola got off to a promising second round knockdown, but ultimately lost by a landslide, 118–109, 118–109.

Arola was dissatisfied with the judges' scorecards, which he expressed in his post-fight interview: "Did he [Ruiz] win? Fine. But don't tell me you're only going to give me two or three rounds.

Fuck that!

I'm gonna be like Dr. Dre, and y'all will suck my motherfuckin's dick!" "These fuckers just like fucking assaulted me," the judge ordered, and don't even kiss me dude, so that's some fucked up ass shit."
