Jessica Lee Rose Life

Jessica Lee Rose (born April 26, 1987) is an American-New Zealand actress who first became known for her role as lonelygirl15, a fictional teenage homeschooled character named Bree who appeared in YouTube video blogs beginning in June 2006.

The mystery surrounding her character's potential fictionality brought her outing by the Los Angeles Times, which brought her right into the mainstream spotlight.

Rose received a Webby in 2007 for this role. Rose played "Jen K" on ABC Family's Greek after leaving lonelygirl15 in August 2007.

She went on to appear in several films, including Perfect Sport and SyFy's Ghost Town, as well as other web series such as Hooking Up and Sorority Forever.

In March 2010, she agreed to film Look at Me, which stars her Lonelygirl15 co-star Yousef Abu Taleb.

Early life

Rose was born in Salisbury, Maryland, and when she was eight years old, she migrated to Mount Maunganui, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. She attended Mount Maunganui College in 2000–2003 as part of her secondary school education. She then attended an acting class at Studio 111 in Auckland. In January 2004, she travelled to Auckland to study at the Academy of Film and Television Make Up.

Rose's film career included donning make-up and costume on a New Zealand short film called Us, as well as doing extras' makeup on the set of Peter Jackson's King Kong. She appeared in a short film titled Dearly Beloved and appeared in the short film Unleash the Fury, a leading role.

Rose's parents divorced, she returned to Salisbury in May 2005 to live with her father. She then enrolled at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) at Universal Studios in Universal City, California, where she later enrolled. On Craigslist, she discovered a listing for an independent film project The Children of Anchor Cove. She auditioned for the lead role and was given the role of Bree. Rose signed a non-disclosure agreement and was informed that the project would consist of a sequence of videos posted to the World Wide Web over the Internet. She was concerned at first because she was worried about the project's pornography, but she was later informed otherwise and agreed to partake. Although she was initially unpaid, as lonelygirl15 became more popular, she and co-star Yousef Abu-Taleb received salaries.

Personal life

Rose became engaged to her partner and fellow actor Tim Phillipps in March 2016. In early 2017, they joined the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron. In September 2019, she gave birth to their first child, a boy.

Jessica Lee Rose Career

Post-YouTube career

Rose was signed by United Talent Agency and appeared in the ABC Family film "Jen K" and "I Know Who Killed Me," starring Lindsay Lohan, following her departure from lonelygirl15. In the award-winning sports drama Perfect Sport, she appeared on "Tina," an aspiring wrestler. Rose appeared in the music video for The White Tie Affair's song "Candle (Sick and Tired)," in January 2009, and the following October, she appeared in the Syfy television film Ghost Town.

After receiving a disturbing late-night call from a friend, it was announced that she would appear in a web television series called Blood Cell about "a young woman [who] must race against the clock to stop a sadistic madman." To little media zeal, the series was launched in October 2009 by theWB.com. She appeared in another web series called Sorority Forever from Big Fantastic, the creators of Prom Queen. With some Gossip Girl and Veronica Mars elements to it, three freshman in "the hottest sorority on campus" followed three new students. In addition, she appeared in Hooking Up, a ten episode web series from HBO starring other famous faces from the internet, including video bloggers sxePhil and KevJumba.

In November 2008, Rose joined with coworker and fellow Sorority Forever actor Taryn Southern to form Webutantes, a web production company that may produce a female-driven comedy web series. At the 2009 Streamy Awards, the two were grouped together.

Rose appeared in the web series Poor Paul, co-produced by former lonelygirl15 co-star Yousef Abu-Taleb, and the second season of the web series The Crew in 2009. She is a fan of Anaheim Ducks and regularly blogs for NHL.com, in addition to acting.

On Lonelygirl15, Rose appeared as Bree again in June 2016.
