Jessica Lu Life

Jessica Luis is an American actress, model, and spokesperson.

Ming Huang's role on the MTV television series Awkward is perhaps best known.

Early life

Jessica Lu was born and raised in Schaumburg, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Her parents are from South Korea, with her father being Chinese and Japanese and her mother, Chinese. At home, they can speak English, Mandarin, and Korean. Since both her father and mother, a singer, have owned a restaurant together in the United States, they have operated it together.

Lu has been a natural performer since childhood. She began dancing at 6 years old, specializing in ballet, tap, and jazz. After seeing Kristi Yaman and Michelle Kwan in the Olympics on television, she decided to pursue figure skating and began private lessons every morning at 4 a.m. before school. She also took lessons in singing, piano, and violin. Jessica will entertain each table with a dramatic reading, violin playing, a tap dance, or a song as she grows up and has her parents' restaurant as her stage with a constantly changing audience.

She began modeling and acting in Chicago by the time she was ten years old, and she became a highly sought after child performer in Chicago, including Calvin Klein, Oshkosh, Marshall Fields, Got Milk?, and Chicago Place, as well as McDonald's, Ford Motors, Orville Redenbacher's, and Kaiser Permanente.

She earned a degree in Musical Theatre Performance from Columbia College Chicago.
