The perpetrator, a black male in his mid-20s to early 30s, has been arrested. According to investigators, the man who seemed to be firing at people randomly over a roughly 212-hour period on Sunday morning killed four people in total. Around 4:45 a woman in her 40s died after being shot multiple times around 4:45 a.m. According to a witness, a 28-year-old man had fired multiple times. Around 6:50 a.m., a second woman in her 40s was killed after being fired several times. Around 7:10 a.m., an elderly man was shot by the perpetrator who was looking into multiple cars when he was being noticed.

After four shootings took place all over Motor City, the unknown gunman, who Detroit Police said was a black male who was either in his mid-20s or early 30s, was last seen wearing an all black outfit. The three victims of the shootings were identified as a woman in her 40s, a 28-year-old male, and another woman in her 40s, who had all been shot multiple times around, though an elderly man was shot once after noticing the gunman peering into several cars at the break of dawn.
