James Carpinello (born August 13, 1975) is an American actor whose appearances in Tori Spelling's VH1 sitcom So Notorious brought him national attention.

Personal life
He is of Italian, German, Irish, and Danish descent, and the uncle of Anthony J. Carpinello, a former Justice of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, and Sharon E. Kelly, a mental health official, is a psychiatrist. Amy Acker, a young actress, married Carpinello on April 25, 2003. They have two children, Jackson James, who was born on January 22, 2005, and Ava Grace, a daughter who was born on September 1, 2006.
Career
Carpinello appeared on Broadway for the first time as Tony Manero in 1999's Saturday Night Fever. The musical is based on the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever, in which John Travolta played Manero.

Carpinello was cast in the Broadway musical Xanadu for his third Broadway appearance. Xanadu, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Michael Beck as Sonny, is based on a film from the 1980s. During a rehearsal on June 12, 2007, Carpinello was forced to leave the performance just two weeks before it was scheduled at the Helen Hayes Theatre. As of June 22, 2007, Cheyenne Jackson took over Sonny's role; the musical's debut was postponed for July 10, 2007.
In the Broadway musical Rock of Ages at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, Carpinello next appeared as rocker Stacee Jaxx. Actor Will Swenson appeared in Jaxx before Swenson was given the lead comedic role of Berger in the revival Broadway production of HAIR. Carpinello was fired before Rock of Ages began performances on Broadway.
