Seah was reportedly uttering a profanity live on air after mistakenly quoting the name of a Chinese celebrity. When the vulgarity was heard, the scene went from the studio to a video clip of a basketball match. The scene was shot and posted on YouTube. On online forums, blogs, and even Facebook, it had resulted in a slew of discussion. However, her artiste manager denied that Seah had uttered any profanity, and MediaCorp confirmed this.
However, Seah's executive vice president, Mr Kenneth Liang, executive vice president (TV Programming & Production, Channel 5), confirmed the swearing unintentionally on Monday. After her lines were delivered, the microphone was not switched off, resulting in her reaction to the fluff being recorded on the program. Seah would not be replaced as the co-host of Today in Beijing. Seah apologized for the incident and said she regretted her overreaction in a channel 5 tweet.
