Jerrell C. Jones (born March 28, 1986), better known by his stage name J-Kwon, is an American rapper from St. Louis who rose to number two in 2004.
Life and career
Jones was barred from his house at age 12 for allegedly dealing illegal drugs. He slept at his friends' houses and in cars. He broke his jaw after winning one rap battle.
After 14 weeks on the chart, J-Kwon first rose to fame with the single "Tipsy" from his 2004 album Hood Hop, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 on April 17, 2004. The song debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and it debuted at number two. It did well internationally, peaking in the top ten of the charts in Australia and the United Kingdom. "You & Me" with Sadiyyah and "Hood Hop" were among the singles.
