Sy Ari Brockington (born January 8, 1986), also known as Sy Ari da Kid, is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper.

Early life

Brockington was born in The Bronx, New York, but at the age of nine, he migrated to Atlanta, Georgia. As a boy, he had aspirations to be a professional basketball player but he soon became a rapper after being influenced by his brother and cousin. He and rapper K Camp attended Robert L. Osborne High School. Brockington will appear on Atlanta's HOT 107.9 FM, where he was credited for 11 straight victories after graduation.

Personal life

Brockington is a single father, something he often speaks about in interviews. He explains how he wants to be a voice for single fathers, although there are few in his industry who openly discuss the issue.

Career

Brockington learned how to produce and record with Pro Tools, which attracted Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Brian Michael Cox. Brockington later launched his own independent label after being signed to December First Publishing Group. Arrogant Music was born in 2006, for which he serves as the CEO and chief recording artist.

In 2011, he released The Ultrasound, his first formal solo project, among other mixtapes. In January 2012, a new three mixtapes, including The Best of Da Kid Part One and Part Two appeared. Brockington's collection of 106 songs displayed his lyrical ability and versatility.

He continued to release several mixtapes while collaborating with musicians such as Waka Flame, Future, Travis Porter, and Roscoe Dash over the years. On February 4, 2016, Brockington unveiled B4 the Heartbreak, which featured Bryson Tiller on "Priorities." Chasity, Lewis Sky, and Tink's features were also included in the mixtape.

He later revealed that a sequel to his album titled 2Soon was in the works.
