Club career
Sarr, a native of Saint-Louis, Senegal, began his football career with Senegalese football club Génération Foot.
Sarr's first professional deal with FC Metz was signed on July 13, 2016. He made his league debut against Lille OSC on August 13, 2016, the FC Metz's home ground, where Metz defeated them 3–2. He played 20 minutes in this match after being recalled for Florent Mollet.
Sarr signed a four-year deal with Rennes, which was announced on July 26th. Metz's transfer fee was estimated at €17 or 20 million, depending on the source. He preferred Rennes over a move to FC Barcelona.
