Personal life
Marlowe was married three times, the first time to an actress. He was married to Edith Atwater between 1941 and 1966, and he died in 1946 to K.T. Jeffrey and Christian was Stevens, with whom he had two sons. Hugh Michael II, he was married to Rosemary Torri from 1968 to his death, with whom he had one son.
Marlowe died of a heart attack at the age of 71 and was buried in Ferncliff Cemetery and Mausoleum in Hartsdale, Westchester County, New York.
