Career

Hong began his acting career in 2007 as a professional model. He made his acting debut in 2008 and appeared in Oh! The Romantic Comedy. My Lady (2010), sitcom Vampire Idol (2011), and supporting roles in Jeon Woo-chi (2012) and the Dating Agency: Cyrano (2013). Hong was first seen in his first leading role in the cable series Her Lovely Heels in 2014, followed by the melodrama Mama. He appeared on the fourth season of reality show We Got Married, partnering with Girl's Day member Yura.

In 2015, Hong Kong performed in Enemies In-Law and horror film Alice: Boy from Wonderland, followed by historical drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

He co-starred in The King of Love, a historical melo-romance drama. He appeared in the romantic comedy drama My Absolute Boyfriend, which is based on the Japanese manga series of the same name. He is also set to appear in the time-loop drama Spring, Again.

Hong Kong has been confirmed to appear in the weekend drama Mother of Mine in March 2019.

On December 2, 2019, Hong Kong was enlisted for his obligatory service.

Hong Kong's son was featured in the What We Lost Vol. 2 photo exhibit in October 2021 as a photographer after being barred from military service.

After being exiled from the military, Hong Kong recalls the original TV drama Stock Struck in 2022.
