In "Dead Reckoning Part One," a character from the Very First "Mission: Impossible" returns

The Mission: Impossible films have always had a complicated relationship with their own history. Many characters will appear in one film and then never return to the franchise again. And remembering the past of the IMF (impossible Mission Force), Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) are all part of the Impossible Mission Force, which is more than a little complicated. The newest film in the series, "Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One," aka "Mission: Impossible 7," features a character from the very first film. Henry Czerny reprises his role as Eugene Kittridge from 1996's "Mission: Impossible" in the new film. Kittridge, the IMF's chief, appears in the first "Mission: Impossible." Kittridge is on the lookout for a mole in the IMF, and he suspects it's Ethan. Even Ethan's family was arrested in an attempt to lure him out of hiding in Kittridge. Ethan is eventually proven innocent, and Kittridge is reinstated, but he's still has a little worry about what happened (a common theme in the films).

In 1996, the first "Mission: Impossible" film came out, starring Cruise as an inexperienced young agent. Over the next two decades, five sequels were released, and "Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One" and "Mission: Impossible — Part Two" and "Mission: Impossible — Part Two" will be the seventh and eighth instalments of the franchise.
