Robert Knepper Life

Robert Lyle Knepper (born July 8, 1959) is an American actor best known for his role as Theodore "Bag" Bagwell in the Fox drama series Prison Break (2005–2017), Samuel Sullivan in the final season of NBC's Heroes (2005–2017), Angus McDonough and Rodney Mitchum in Showtime's revival of Twin Peaks (2017).

He has appeared in films including Hitman (2007) and Transporter 3 (2008).

Early life

Knepper was born in Fremont, Ohio, and raised in Maumee, Ohio, as the son of Pat Deck and Donald Knepper, a veterinarian, and a surgeon. He was keen on acting from an early age due to his mother's service as a props-handler at a community theater. Knepper earned a Ph.D. degree from Maumee High School in 1977, and he continued to work in Chicago during this time. Knepper resigned from Northwestern and moved to New York City, where he continued to work in theater nearing the completion of his education.

Personal life

Benjamin Peter (born 2002) and his first wife, Tory Herald, have a son. In 2013, Nadine Kary, his second wife, married him.

Costume designer Susan Bertram accused Knepper of sexual assault on the set of the 1991 film Gas Food Lodging on November 8, 2017. In a since-deleted Instagram post, Knepper denied the charges. Bertram's counsel announced on February 28, 2018, that she was bringing a defamation complaint against Knepper in Los Angeles County Superior Court, following his denials and demanding damages in a jury hearing. He defamed Bertram, according to Knepper's lawyers. Bertram's advocate announced that the case had been settled on June 1, 2021; the terms had not been disclosed.

On December 5, 2017, four new charges dating between 1983 and 2013 were lodged against Knepper, including one accusing rape in Vancouver in 2010. Knepper denied all of the charges.

The CW opened an internal probe late in 2017, in the aftermath of these allegations. It was revealed that he would be retaining iZombie after there was no evidence of misconduct on the set. On January 12, 2018, it was revealed that the studio had launched a second inquiry. "Again, the probe relates to the set and his conduct on the set," CW president Mark Pedowitz said. "They found no wrongdoing on the programme." Knepper had been inactive for a single season, according to Pedowitz, and that his departure from the series had already been planned.
