Harry Edward Kane (born 28 July 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays for Tottenham Hotspur and captains the England national team.
Kane, a boy from Walthamstow, began his professional career at Tottenham Hotspur, where he was promoted to the senior team in 2009, after fast progress through the team's youth academy.

Early life
Kane was born in Walthamstow, London, to Kim (née Hogg) and Patrick Kane, and he has one older brother, Charlie. He has Irish roots through his father, who is from Galway. Club career
Kane was first a footballer for Ridgeway Rovers and then joined Arsenal Youth Academy when he was eight years old. According to Liam Brady, who was then in charge of Arsenal's academy, he was released after one season for being "a bit chubby" and not "very athletic." In November 2015, Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger expressed disappointment with Arsenal's decision to release Kane. He had a trial at Tottenham Hotspur but was unsuccessful, and he returned to his old club Ridgeway Rovers. He joined Watford academy for a four-week trial and was given a second shot at Tottenham after impressing against Tottenham Hotspur. In a 6–1 victory over Albania on October 8, 2010, he made the jump to the under-19s and scored twice twice. Kane was instrumental in the England under-19s' ascension to the 2012 European Under-19 Championship semi-finals in Estonia. In the last group stage match between France and Kane, the team secured a safe passage to the semi-finals. Kane scored 14 times for England U19s and played 6 goals during that time.
He was selected in manager Peter Taylor's 21-man team for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup on May 28th. In a warm-up match against Uruguay on June 16, he made his debut on June 16 in a 3–0 win. In the first group-stage match against Iraq on June 23, 2013, he assisted Luke Williams' goal. He scored in the following match against Chile, winning a pass after doing Ross Barkley's duties and firing in from the edge of the penalty zone. Kane made his under-21s debut against Scotland on August 13, 2013. He appeared as a substitute in the 58th minute in the 58th minute, and England defeated 6–0. During 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying, Michael Farley scored a hat-trick for England under-21s against San Marino. He continued to score in 12 games for the under-21s, including his brace against France, who scored 13 goals in 13 games.

He was the first England player to miss from the penalty spot during a game since Frank Lampard in 2010, and the first to miss the goal since Peter Crouch in 2006. Kane was expected to face corner kicks at the European Championship in France in June, a move that pundits chastised, but Hodgson defended him, saying Kane was the best for the role.
Kane captained England in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Scotland at Hampden Park on Sunday, scoring an added-time equalizer to break a 2–2 draw. He scored an add-time winner against Slovenia on October 5th, which confirmed England's qualification to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Kane was named in the 23-man England squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and was made captain. Kane scored both of England's goals in a 2–1 victory over Tunisia on June 18th, his winning goal coming right in injury time in the team's first group game of the World Cup. Kane scored a hat-trick in England's 6–1 victory over Panama on June 24, which was England's first World Cup victory ever. Kane became the third England player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup match after Geoff Hurst against West Germany in 1966 and Gary Lineker against Poland in 1986.
England defeated Colombia in the Round of 16, with Kane scoring his sixth goal of the finals. Scoring a penalty in a match that ended 1–1 after 120 minutes and also scored in the penalty shoot-out as England defeated 4–3; this was the first time England had to win a penalty shoot-out at the World Cup. Kane didn't score again for the remainder of the tournament after losing 2–0 Belgium in the third place playoffs. Despite this, his six goals in the tournament earned him the Golden Boot as the top goalscorer of the World Cup, making him the first England player to win the award since Gary Lineker was the first to do so in the 1986 tournament.
The UEFA Nations League was announced during the September international break. England's first match was against Spain on September 8, 2018; Kane captained for the full 90 minutes in a game that saw England lose 2–1.
