Jose Sixto Raphael "Dingdong" Gonzalez Dantes III (born August 2, 1980) is a Filipino actor, television host, dancer, commercial model, and film director who is currently on GMA Network as an exclusive talent.

He is also the founding chairman of the YesPinoy Foundation and directs his own film studio named AgostoDos Pictures.

Personal life

On August 9, 2014, Dantes presented his perennial leading lady and longtime companion Marian Rivera for the second time. They met on the set of Marimar in 2007. In August 2012, he made his first attempt in Macau.

Dantes married Rivera in the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Quezon City on December 30, 2014. Both Dantes and Rivera are exclusive artists on GMA Network. GMA honoured them as their network's primetime king and queen after years of hard work and demonstrated success with their television campaigns, either individually or together. Their wedding was therefore titled "The Royal Wedding" in honor. Rivera gave birth to Maria Letizia on November 23, 2015, and then gave birth to their second child Jose Sixto IV (Ziggy) on April 16, 2019.

Dantes is also a Lieutenant Commander in the Philippine Navy.

He is the cousin of former sports anchor and current TV host Bianca Gonzales-Intal, as well as fellow actor Arthur Solinap.

Life and career

Dantes was born in Quezon City, Philippines. He began his modeling career at the age of two, appearing in a television commercial for Carnation milk. Several other commercials followed before he joined Abztract Dancers, his brother, actor Nathan Dados, and his cousin, actor Arthur Solinap. Their community joined Eat Bulaga for the first time. And that's Entertainment.

In the Shake, Rattle, and Roll V episode "Anino," an actor made his first film appearance as an actor. He made his debut on GMA Network's youth-oriented T.G.I.S. after three years. He appeared in Iraki as a young child under the name Raphael Dantes. He was first paired with Antoinette Taus. In the 90's, Dantes and Taus became one of the most memorable loveteams in the Philippine entertainment industry, especially in the 90s. He appeared in films such as Honey My Love So Sweet, Kiss Mo 'Ko, And I'm Sorry My Love, and television programs including Anna Karenina, as well as a few ABS-CBN television programs including a F.L.A.M.E.S., as a guest in ABS-CBN's Honey My Love. This episode, a youth-oriented romantic-drama anthology anthology with various love teams and stories that aired from 1996 to 2000.

Dantes played Sergio to Marian Rivera's character, Marimar in Marimar, in 2007. He was ranked No. 154 in the same year last year. Cosmopolitan magazine (Philippines) has compiled a 1 Bachelor of 2007. He received the "Most Popular Actor in a Drama/Mini-series" award from the USTV Students' Choice Award.

Fredo, a love interest of Dyesebel in Dyesebel, was cast by his home studio in 2008. He debuted as the Bench image model in March 2008. Dantes appeared in One True Love in 2008 as well. The film was given a B+ by the Cinema Evaluation Board of the Philippines.

Dantes appeared on Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang in early 2009. In August 2009, he was chosen to be a Myx guest VJ to showcase his album The Dingdong Dantes Experience. The album debuted on the variety show SOP a week after it had been announced on the variety show SOP. In the 2009 Philippine version of the Korean drama "Cholo," Dantes was selected to play the role of "Cholo." Richard Gomez was also named as the new host of Family Feud.

In 2010, Dantes was supposed to announce You to Me Are Everything. During Regine Velasquez and Ogie Algie Algud's tour in the United States, he appeared in May-June. From June 25 to October 15, 2010, he appeared on Endless Love, a television series. Dantes, a cohost of Party Pilipinas on channel 7, became a cohost of Party Pilipinas. In the 2010 PMPC Star Awards for Television, he received the "Best Drama Actor Award" for Stairway To Heaven, and he was nominated in the same category at the 2010 Asian Television Awards.

I Heart You, Pare, a comedy primetime television series produced in 2011, Dantes created the I Heart You, Pare. Regine Velasquez, his leading lady, appears on his show. He plays a obnoxious macho guy who meets with a heterosexual woman played by Velásquez who has since returned to the theatre for the second time as she plays a drag who tries to escape from the rule. Regine Velasquez died seven weeks before the series came to an end due to her pregnancy with her partner Ogie Algona. Velasquez was replaced by Iza Calzado in the series.

Kris Aquino and Angelica Panganiban appeared in the Star Cinema suspense film Segunda Mano. This was Dantes' first venture with rival station and film archive Star Cinema, a division of ABS-CBN. This was also his first time to work with Kapamilya actors. He said he had signed a one-film deal with Star Cinema to produce the film and work with Kris Aquino.

My Beloved, a primetime television series, aired on February 13, 2012. He was selected to appear in another MMFF entry for 2012 starring Kapamilya actors Angelica Panganiban, Angel Locsin, and Zanjoe Marudo in June 2012. It was Dante's second film with rival Star Cinema of ABS-CBN, and Ruel S. Bayani's comeback after his critically acclaimed blockbuster film No Other Women debuted in the box office last year. Dantes appeared in a primetime television series Pahiram ng Sandali with Lorna Tolentino, Christopher de Leon, and Max Collins in November 2012.

In 2013, Dantes and Marian Rivera joined PETA to free the elephant Mali from the Manila Zoo, where she has been held for the majority of her life in a tiny enclosure and in need of proper care.

Dantes earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management from West Negros University in March 2014. Dantes was appointed and sworn-in by President Benigno Aquino III as the commissioner-at-large of the National Youth Commission on May 5, 2014. In the 2016 national elections, Leni Robredo resigned as the NYC commissioner, allowing him to resign as president and vice president Leni Robredo as vice president.

He went to Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, in April 2017 to inaugurate the Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MinSCAT) Grandstand. He became the guest speaker at Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology-Calapan City Campus's 43rd Commencement Exercises a day later.

He is currently the chief operating officer of Hyundai West Paraguay's West Paraguay.

From a South Korean TV series based on Capt. Dantes appeared in a Philippine version of Descendants of the Sun. Lucas Manalo and Jennylyn Mercado were married together in a house.
