Fernando Poe Jr. Life

Ronald Allan Poe (August 20, 1939 – December 14, 2004), also known as FPJ, Ronwaldo Reyes, and Da King, was a Filipino actor, producer, and politician.

His long career as an action film actor earned him the nickname "King of Philippine Movies" (oftenshortened to Da King).

Poe was deposed by then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the 2004 Philippine presidential election, during the latter phase of his career. Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo proclaimed Poe as a National Artist of the Philippines for Film on May 23, 2006.

Former President Benigno Aquino III announced the award on July 20, 2012, and it was presented to his family on August 16.

Early life and education

Ronald Allan "Ronnie" Poe was the son of Filipino actor Fernando Poe Sr. (born Allan Fernando Poe Sr.), a mestizo of Spanish descent from San Carlos, Pangasinan, and Elizabeth "Bessie" Kelley, a mestiza with Irish American roots from San Carlos, Pangasinan and Elizabeth "Bessie" Kelley, a mestizo of Irish descent. He was born in Manila on August 20, 1939.

His parents were not married when he was born and were later married in 1940. In 2004, Poe's political rivals tried to derail his candidacy for the 2004 Philippine presidency when they attempted to disqualify him as the son of a non-Filipino mother.

He was the second of six siblings and it came from his brother Andy (born Fernando Poe Jr.), whose given name was used by Poe as his own business name to bank on the reputation of his father, who was a leading actor in his day. Conrad Poe, Poe's half-brother, Fernando Poe Sr.'s illegitimate son, and actress Patricia Mijares, was on the show.

Pou, the original spelling of the family surname, was plummeting from his paternal grandfather, playwright Lorenzo Pou, a Catalan immigrant from Majorca, Spain, who moved to mining and fishing in the Philippines.

Poe received his primary education at San Beda College, Lepanto, in 1953. He attended San Sebastian College for high school. He continued his studies at Mapua Institute of Technology and University of the East, where he took the course in Theater Arts.

Poe became the family's breadwinner after his father died of rabies at the age of 34. He dropped out of the University of the East during his sophomore year in order to help his family.

Personal life

Susan Roces, the professional name of Jesusa Sonora, was the subject of a civil wedding in December 1968. They married in a religious service, and they had one of their principal sponsors, then-President Ferdinand Marcos, and First Lady Imelda. Grace Poe, a daughter of Poe and Roces, became a senator.

Poe was incredibly private about his personal life. However, Poe confessed to fathering two children out of wedlock in February 2004 during the presidential race. He had a son, Ronian, and with former actress Rowena Moran, and had a daughter, Lourdes Virginia.
