Brooke McCarter (April 22, 1963 – December 22, 2015) was an American actor, producer, director, composer and musician.
He is known for the role of Paul in the 1987 vampire horror comedy The Lost Boys.
Career
In 1986, Wired in 1989, The Uh-Oh Show in 2009, and The Twilight Zone, the 1980s television revival series, McCarter appeared in such films as Thrashin', 1993, Wired in 1989, and the 1980s television reboot series The Twilight Zone. After winning a national talent search, McCarter began his career in the entertainment industry as a model with the Ford modeling company in New York City. He began working with Levi's and JC Penney, among other things. He took part in a performing arts curriculum of voice, dance, and acting. Stella Adler, a legendary coach, followed him as he studied in college. After finishing his New York education, he moved to Los Angeles and started working on national commercials for Pepsi, Miller, and Chevrolet.
McCarter's first feature film, Thrashin, a skateboard film starring Tony Hawk, Josh Brolin, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was released in the United States. His first big break came in the 1980s with a co-starring role in The Lost Boys, the '80s rom. McCarter appeared on television shows such as The Twilight Zone and Route 66. His last film, Wired, was about John Belushi, starring Michael Chiklis.
He was also a drummer and music programmer, as well as producing independent films such as "Les of Green," which he also directed.
He went from Hollywood to work in telecommunications in 1998. During this time, he moved to Tampa, Florida, to raise his daughter as a single parent. McCarter returned to acting in horror legend Herschell Gordon Lewis's Uh-Oh Show in 2009. With his Lost Boys co-stars, he has appeared at horror conventions both in the United States and abroad in recent years. He has also performed in the United States as a drummer, and his djembes, bongos, congas, and tambourines could be seen in bars around the Tampa Bay area.
